I thought that it was very good! Very aptly named too!
I don't want to give anything away about the movie, but I will tell you this, I noticed a lot of interesting references. Well edited, and brilliant cinematography. Will Smith is excellent!
I LOVED IT

Haven't got round to seeing it. Someone let slip what happens during the film which spoiled it for me. Will probably wait for it to come out on DVD now..
On the positive side, I went to see Cloverfield. That film blew me away. Rarely say this about any film but I thought it was fantastic! Admittedly I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the film, so I had no preconceptions or expectations of what it was like. It's a non-stop, thrilling, sometimes terrifying action movie.

Yeah, it's a continuation of Casino Royale, he find's out who killed his chick, and it's gonna get interesting!
I think Daniel Craig has definitely given Bond a more "human" look.

The Dark Knight will be an all-time box office mega-movie because of the untimely passing of Heath. Did he finish screening or will they digitally add the remainder of his scenes? Here in Oz there's an explosion of Heath Ledger movies in tribute to him - last night "The Patriot" got the ball rolling, many more to follow. RIP Heath.

Strongly recommend you see
The Kite Runner.
This film is set in Afganistan and is about the friendship between two boys. It also touches on the turmoil in Afganistan and a family escaping the country and moving to America. The actors playing the two young boys are brilliant. The story will make you cry. The photography is fantastic. Sub-titled.
I am Legend really fustrated me and even now I can't work out if I liked it or not! Saying that, Will Smith was fantastic in it.
Saw Cloverfield last week and loved it! Loved the 'Lost' references and just thought it was a really good and different movie.
Going to see Jumper tomorrow night. Looking forward to that one.

'There will be blood' with Daniel Day Lewis. Strange but compelling watch.... I was never sure if I liked the lead character or not.
This is a story about the oil men in USA in the 1800's. The lead character is a determined, clever oil man who takes over a town because they have oil. On the one hand he seems not to have a heart, yet on the other, he adopts a child.

Jumper looks excellent .... no DL's @ the mo though, There will be blood - Very Strangeeeeeeee and boring ! Golden Compass - Weird ! 3 : 10 to yuma - actually quite good, Hitman - predictable, Michael Clayton - so so,
Slipstream - Weird ass'd ! Rambo 4 - typical !

Nyala, Apocolypto .... sorry I M O, it was the biggest crock of shite to grace the screens. Time line was ridiculous, one minute in was in the amazon, next in mexico, then it took him 3 days to run back to the forrest, pregnant wifey down the pit eventually ends up having a water birth, that dude was trying to play an Aztec version of rambo ... it just got more and more ludicrous as time went on ......... then he bumps into Cortez and Boys who shouldnt have been around for at least another 100yrs ....

Jumper was okay... I thought acting was not so great :whistling: but special effects brilliant. Saying that, it gave me more of a headache than Cloverfield. **but then maybe I'm used to jumpy home videos!** :smiley36:

Hancock - Sad Ending
Wanted - Crap - Weak Performance by Morgan Freeman.
Kung fu panda - funny as expected.
Hell Boy 2 The Golden Army - Weird and Crap
Indiana Jones - Good all things considered.
There are better movies coming out of the world cinema arena at the moment that the US block busters !
Some excellent subtitled ones around at the moment.
SpaRHawK

Well said Iggy.... agree on all counts. Although I must add to the Hancock...
Sad ending, more than just a comedy..
Saw Mummy 3 yesterday... If you have seen either of the previous Mummy films - you've seen this one.... more of the same except no Rachel Weiss.
Give The Happening a miss... seriously strange and the type of movie that leaves you feeling 'is that it?' at the end.
Dark Knight didn't really do it for me - sorry folks but there you go.
There is a severe lack of any good movies out there at the moment - seems the current trend is the remake... the latest being the remake of Death Race 2000, this time with Jason Stratham... (it's gonna suck... )
Tropic Thunder might be funny...
Am excited by the Watchmen although I cannot see it being anything like the book (comic.. whatever) - keen to see how it pans out.
Max Payne too might be watchable...
Any suggestions Ig?

Ok - I am a saddo and I like Abba's music, so took the wife to go see Mamma Mia.
You know what, I enjoyed it. The spontaneity of the acting in some of the songs had me in stitches, and the music had me following the beat with my feet. Julie Walters was really good, and Meryl Streep performed well too.
A good show, probably more for the women or Abba nuts like me - or the blokes sat in the sets behind us!

Shame on Mr Man - nothing wrong in showing your 'X' chromosome side (didn't want to use the 'F****ine' word in case it really scares him off).
And yes, there were plenty of fellas in the audience, and I don't think any of them were under any sort of duress either.
Good and intelligent use of the music, adapting lyrics for the story line, but keeping to the spirit of the original. There were also cameo appearances by Bennie and Bjorn.

Bugger Iggy.... was hoping that there was at least one film that has come out recently that is worth a watch....
And if any of you get the oppurtunity to catch ' The Ruins' go do something else instead... like drinking lard... or counting blades of grass... it would be a more worthwhile exercise.... same applies to 'The Strangers'... complete toilet the both of them.
Gonna watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall again.... except I'm gonna fast forward through all the male nudity - there is NO need.

'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' - the new one with Brendan Fraser. Enjoy it. Completely unbelievable and totally filled with disney pap... fun way to spend an hour and a half.
Saw 5. If you have seen any of the others then you've seen this one too.... nothing really new in the genre... more deaths in very intricate ways.... and the tag line of 'You won't believe how it ends'.... yeah - you will. Try spot the guy from 24 and the girl from Dexter.
Babylon AD. New Vin Diesel pic. Suspect you need to know the books to fully appreciate this. Typical standard faire. Good effects. Rubbish story-line. Unless you really have a thing for Vin then I would steer clear.

I so wanted to hate that film... and was completely disgusted with myself at enjoying it.... damn my low morals and being easily swayed for a vampire story..
Saw Body of Lies too - basically Leo playing a similar character to that in Blood Diamond but this time in Jordan... and a rather a weak ending. Enjoyable none the less though.
Anyone think Slumdog did not live up to the hype?? Good ish film but couldn't what it won all the Oscars for...
Spoiler alert:
And Marley and Me.... if you have a dog... do not watch this film. Seriously. Spent quite a bit of time sat with my mutt after watching it just patting the little fella... You know how the film is going to end but you still carry on watching it - Jock of the Bushveldt anyone?
And Seven Pounds.... that film killed me... kinda knew the story but still was in bits at the end... was Saving Private Ryan all over again (and Jedi...)

any one for THE USUAL SUSPECTS?? what a top flick...
Top film... quality... iou reps for that - Heat (De Niro, Kilmer, Pacino... in one film.)
Crash was a good film (the newer one not the one about sexual fetishes about crashing cars...) - at least it made you think. Too many films nowdays are mindless and do not challenge you, mentally or otherwise.
Wanna talk top movies (filmed in Zim too....) would be Wild Geese. Now that's a quality film.

Watched this film the other night, it was very disappointing.
Basically this skimpily clad girl is making breakfast in her kitchen when this dude knocks on her door and tells her that that he’s come to fix her fridge.
He’s barely started repairing it, when things get a little heated and they start having sex. This goes on for about fifteen minutes before he finally stops.
“Hooray” I think, now we can get on with the story. Just then there’s a knock at the door and three more dudes are standing at the door. Apparently they have a puncture and need to call the road services for assistance.
Much to my surprise they start taking their clothes off and I’m thinking “WTF!!! Why do you need to take your clothes off to make a phone call?”
Next thing, they’re all having sex with the girl. This goes on for another half an hour and I’m getting angrier by the minute. “When the f:smiley35:k are they going to fix the fridge?” I’m wondering to myself. “If they all helped, they could have the fridge going quite quickly”.
They eventually finish having sex and all leave, completely disregarding the fact that the fridge is still faulty.
In summary, the plot is very weak and the dialogue is very poor. The ending is very sudden and you’re left with a lot of unanswered questions, such as “How did those three dudes get home with a flat tyre?” and “What were their names?” and “why did the service engineer only a dildo in his tool box?”:confusing:
If fact, to be honest I couldn’t help wondering if there was any point to this movie at all. :noidea:
Absolute nonsense. Avoid at all costs.:nono:

15th July, 15th July - can't wait - HARRY POTTER IS HERE!
HP - bah, only for kids and soft headed adults.
From the adverts I accidentally saw when purely by mistake I went to harrypotter.com (instead of my local potter, Larry's website) they seem to have exaggerated the storyline to show destruction in central London - which obviously was not in the book. So I've heard.
But the films haven't been a true reflection of the books anyway. Apparently.
Roll on July 15th - so that people from the categories stated above can get their jollies from watching HP&THBP.
Tricky Nicky
07-03-2009, 09:15 AM
The films are a true reflection of the books - I have read them all and seen them all several times. There are a few differences obviously but in the main they are the same.
From the trailers I have seen - London does not even feature - think you were definitely on the wrong site ! :smiley36:

As Mr Punch would say - oh yes it does. It is the Millenium bridge that is destroyed. I bet you reps that it is in at least two of the three adverts (http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/harrypotterandthehalf-bloodprince/#/video) for the film too. Apparently, so I've been told.
The films don't do justice to the books purely because they are unable to show the depth of the plot. And for entertainment value, they have changed the characters personality - was Serverus Snape really so jolly as to bop Harry and Ron's heads during a potions class (HP&TOOTP)?
Chill, enjoy the latest film (release delayed for commercial reasons), and don't worry about what other people think about HP.

Saw the full length trailer this morning - it is indeed the Millenium Bridge and I know what this refers to from the book - although it was not the Millenium Bridge that blew up - there were just strange goings on in the Muggle world that could not be explained and I think that is going to be one of them in the film - can't wait to see it!

I was disappointed with UP.
It started off really well, was really funny, but about half-way onwards it just became a bit pointless, almost like the writers had run out of funny stuff (and a plot). That’s just the impression I got.

Special effects post-production is the business of creating on film, things that were not there when the camera rolled. When Iron Man dons his suit, or the Batmobile turns into the Batbike, you are watching this craft in action.
But what romantics chalk-up to "movie magic" is often the product of many hundreds of people, endlessly pushing pixels around computer screens.
That makes it an industry, and one in which the UK is a world leader.

The success of ‘The Hangover Part II’, which became the top grossing film of 2011 this week despite (mostly) terrible reviews, is just the latest demonstration of why sequels are so important in Hollywood.
With such big money on offer, film studios always look into following up a successful movie, even if they don’t really have a decent idea for a story. Here are some of the madcap sequels that were genuinely considered by greedy movie producers, but thankfully never got the green light. At least not yet, anyway…
Roger Rabbit II: Toon Platoon
The idea: A direct-to-video prequel that saw a young Roger searching for his mother in, er, Nazi-occupied Europe. Along the way he meets a Hollywood actress called Jessica, who he must rescue when she’s captured by the Third Reich. Apparently the film ended with a huge military parade that saw Rog reunited with his real dad, who was revealed to be Bugs Bunny. Hmm.
Why it never happened: Co-producer Steven Spielberg reportedly hated the script - perhaps because he had just made ‘Schindler’s List’ and wasn’t in the mood for jaunty cartoon Nazis. A Hitler-free re-write set on Broadway was commissioned but the project never saw the light of day.
The Vegas Brothers
The idea: A prequel showing the adventures of Vic Vega/Mr. Pink from ‘Reservoir Dogs’ (Michael Madsen) and Vincent Vega from ‘Pulp Fiction’ (John Travolta) - who were apparently brothers. Tarantino said the project “would have taken place during the time Vincent was in Amsterdam, when he was running one of Marcellus’ clubs in Amsterdam. And Vic goes to visit him.”
Why it never happened: Quite simply, Tarantino had other projects he wanted to make more, and the actors got too old to play younger versions of their characters. Probably a good thing.
[See also: Box office disaster becomes surprise international hit (http://yhoo.it/jOX4v6)]
Forest Gump 2: Gump and Co
The idea: Based on Winston Groom’s sequel, Gump would have once again accidently stumbled through historical events - this time in the 1980s and 90s. Shenanigans included helping develop ‘New Coke’, destroying the Berlin Wall, capturing Saddam Hussein during operation Desert Storm and meeting Tom Hanks at the Oscars.
Why it never happened: A script based on the frankly-rubbish sounding book was written by Gump scribe Tim Roth, but according to Hanks a sequel was never seriously considered. “We would have just been repeating ourselves,” he told Radio 1 back in 2008. If life is like a box of chocolates, Gump 2 would be a coffee-flavoured one.
Gladiator 2
The idea: Written by Nick Cave (yes, the musician), this barmy-sounding sequel had Russell Crowe’s Maximus (killed at the end of the first film, remember) resurrected by Roman Gods and becoming some kind of immortal warrior, ultimately fighting in the Second World War and working at the Pentagon.
Why it never happened: Apparently Crowe was extremely keen on Cave’s script, as was director Ridley Scott, who said it “worked brilliantly”. Sadly, however, it was just a bit too barmy for the studio and they passed.
E.T. 2: Nocturnal Fears
The idea: This nine page story treatment dreamt up by writer Melissa Mathison and director Steven Spielberg saw Elliot (the boy from the first movie) captured by an evil ‘mutant albino’ offshoot of E.T.’s race, who had been at war with the peaceful alien’s people for years. Eventually E.T. returns to save the day once more. At one point the diminutive alien leaves a message on his old radio saying ‘ET help Elliott soon’.
Why it never happened: Spielberg quickly decided a sequel to the most beloved sci-fi film of all time might be a bad move, famously saying (somewhat creepily): “It would do nothing but rob the original of its virginity’.
[See also: Classic films that flopped on release (http://yhoo.it/lWiyKB)]
The Bodyguard 2 (Princess Diana)
The idea: Having protected Whitney Huston in the first movie, Kevin Costner’s bodyguard Frank Farmer would now look after Princess Diana - who would play herself.
Why it never happened: Obviously because of her tragic death in 1997. According to Costner, however, the princess was “genuinely interested” in the project. “I had talked with Princess Di a couple of times," Costner told the BBC back in 2001. “She was genuinely excited to see [the script].”
Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash
The idea: A sequel to ‘Freddy vs. Jason’ that pits horror icons Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees (the villains of ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ and ‘Friday 13th’) against manic ‘Evil Dead’ hero Ash Williams.
Why it never happened: The trio had already battled in a comic series, so it seemed only a matter of time before the project reached our screens. However, ‘Evil Dead’ director Sam Raimi, who still owns the rights to the Ash character, reportedly wasn’t keen on the idea, so it’s still stuck in development hell.
[See also: Gordon Ramsay in embarrassing film cameo (http://yhoo.it/iSVB5o)]
Superman Lives
The idea: Written by Kevin Smith (who directed ‘Clerks’ and is one half of ‘Jay and Silent Bob’), this is the granddaddy of silly sequels. Madcap producer Jon Peters gave Smith all kinds of bizarre elements he had to incorporate into the script, including (at various points) Superman battling a giant spider in the finale, Lex Luthor getting a space dog sidekick (because Peters liked Chewbacca ) and Brainiac fighting polar bears at the Fortress of Solitude. Peters also objected to the Man of Steel’s costume… and the fact he could fly.
Why it never happened: Amazingly, Warner Bros. loved the finished script (by that point the space dog was gone) but when Tim Burton was brought onboard to direct he had the screenplay totally re-written and eventually the project collapsed.

He's known for making the ladies swoon with his honour and self-control in teen vamp flicks, but Robert Pattinson's time as a loveable, honest heartthrob could be in its twilight.
His new film 'Bel Ami' sees the dreamy lad switch characters completely to portray a roguish Parisian journalist who rises to power in the French capital by manipulating, seducing and generally abusing women of influence.

One particularly devoted fan of dressing up at Comic-Con is Victoria Schmidt, who says she spends her entire year - and most of the money she earns as an office manager -working out a costume for the summer event. Her first convention was in 1999 and she really goes all out with her appearance. We mean really.

In the past she has dressed up as Batgirl, Kate from ‘Lost’ - complete with ‘authentic’ pit-stains - and has been Princess Leia multiple times, as well as a bearded Obi-Wan Kenobi. She says she spends months planning and creating the costumes, and that once household bills are paid, every penny she has goes on getting her look exactly right.

Schmidt is so devoted she says she doesn’t even mind when she’s lost blood and hair for costumes, saying she’d do it all over again. She’s even asked the actual TV and movie costume designers for help in getting everything perfect.
If she can’t get it exactly as the costume is, she’s not interested: “Go big or go home, because if I can’t do it right then I don’t want to do it.”
Obviously she’s a nerd’s dream, but is currently out-of-bounds - she has the support of her equally geeky boyfriend who she met at an Anime Expo, and who helps her make her costumes.
She can’t foresee a time that it’s going to stop either. Schmidt says that she can’t wait until she’s 60 or 70 because then she can play characters like Professor McGonagall from ‘Harry Potter’. Now that’s devotion.

'Snow White and the Huntsman' stars Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and these first pictures immediately suggest a very different take on the story.
‘Brothers Grimm’ director, Tarsem Singh, looks to have a more colourful, whimsical and dare-we-suggest Tim Burton tone to his version, while there seems to be a more action-orientated feel to 'Huntsman'.

There are a few reasons why we’re excited for this film, firstly our love for Rihanna and our desperation to see her on the big screen after she showcased her acting skills alongside Andy Samberg on 'SNL'. Twice.
Secondly, ‘Battleship’ might have been one of our favourite childhood games.
Hence a film starring Rihanna based on ‘Battleship’ has us itching to see the results.
We’ll have to wait until 20 April to see the full result, but in the mean time we have the poster, official synopsis and an exclusive look at the first trailer:
Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs ‘Battleship’, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, ‘Battleship’ stars Taylor Kitsch as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones, and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.

We'll give Jim Carrey the benefit of the doubt and assume this video love letter to Emma Stone he posted on his official website (http://www.jimcarreytrulife.com/video-post/jim-carreys-message-to-emma-stone) is the result of an idea for a joke taken too far, but, no matter what his intentions were in filming it, it's pretty creepy. Carrey, his face extremely close to the camera, tells 22-year-old Stone: "If I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids. We'd laugh all day long and go camping and play Yahtzee and tell ghost stories by the fire." After an even creepier thing we won't mention here, he then continues: "Every day for the rest of your life, you would thank God that I was the appropriate age for you. But I'm not. I'm 49... Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how I felt. You're pretty special, and I wish you continued success and artistic fulfillment, but most of all, I wish you love and contentment." He closes the video with a whispered "I love you" and a quavering lip. When asked about the odd missive, a rep for Carrey simply told "Access Hollywood": "It's a comical love letter." While we don't envy Stone in that she's no doubt going to have to address this video in countless press interviews moving forward, we have faith she'll handle it with wit and aplomb, as ever.

We spent our afternoon at two movies. The first was Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/barbra-streisand-shows-indiana-jones-footage-course-214352633.html#)," which features a runaway orbiting planet threatening the end of the world. The second was Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion," which features a bat-pig virus threatening the end of the world. These things come in threes.
So, some old footage has surfaced of a prank featuring Barbra Streisand in a dominatrix suit whipping Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, in costume, before she is interrupted by Carrie Fisher and "Empire Strikes Back (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/barbra-streisand-shows-indiana-jones-footage-course-214352633.html#)" director, Irvin Kershner. (It's a play on the "Temple of Doom" scene where Indiana is tormented and whipped by captors who use Indy's own infamous whip.) Watch this now (http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/cool-videos-the-lost-footage-of-barbra-streisand-in-temple-of-doom), thanks to the demented folks at JoBlo, who have brought this mercilessly to the masses. Sweet heavens.
Slashfilm tried to transcribe the "dialogue" of the grainy video. Here's their try (http://www.slashfilm.com/rare-footage-indiana-jones-temple-doom-set-features-barbra-streisand-carrie-fisher/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaig n=Feed%3A+slashfilm+%28%2FFilm%29) (which looks good to us):
Barbra Streisand: "This is for Guns of Navarone!"
Barbra Streisand: "Guns of Navarone? No…"
Harrison Ford: "For Force Ten…"
Barbra Streisand: "For Force Ten!" (Ed. note: She mean FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE not GUNS OF THE NAVARONE.)
Barbra Streisand: "This is for Hanover Street!"
Barbra Streisand: "This is for all the money you're going to make on Return of the Jedi!"
Harrison Ford: "Who's that?"
Carrie Fisher: "Someone who needs you!"
Irvin Kershner: "What the hell is the matter with you? Steve! Come on! I don't believe one word you're saying. Now come on, do it again."
Barbra Streisand: "Give me a reason!"
Harrison Ford: "It's the dialogue!"
Carrie Fisher: "Can I change lines?"
Irvin Kershner: "Listen."
Carrie Fisher: "Yeah?"
Irvin Kershner: "I want you to believe what you are doing!"
Carrie Fisher: "Okay."
Irvin Kershner: "You call that shouting? You call that pain?"
Harrison Ford: "Steven…"
Irvin Kershner: "Steve, how can you let him do this? Come on!"
Harrison Ford: "Okay ready… ready."
Carrie Fisher: "I'll be good, I promise."
Irvin Kershner: "Do it again!"
Harrison Ford: "Really hit me! Really hit me this time!"
Barbra Streisand: "Okay."
Harrison Ford: "Don't do it with such… really hit me!"
Barbra Streisand: "I feel like a fa--ot…" Forgive Barbra that last bit: It was June 1983. We're going to go wipe the rest of our brain off the various walls of our office.

Sorry Dal.... I am a great lover of boobies, don't get me wrong... love 'em...
but this movie was serious toilet... even the boobies couldn't save it... and THAT is saying a lot... It IS worth a watch to see some fine jubblies on display but, other than that (what more is there I hear you ask??) I'd give it a miss.

http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/anne-hathaway-looks-interesting-catwoman-142747276.html
There have been concerns about Anne Hathaway's role in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" from the very beginning. The concern initially was that the daffy, charming, goofy Hathaway had the right amount of gravitas to play Catwoman, even though no one involved with the production would admit that she was playing Catwoman. (She was only listed as playing "Selina Kyle," which, yes, happens to be Catwoman's real-life identity.) Then there were the initial official photos of Hathaway in character, photos that looked so odd and off-tone from the Nolan Batman films up to this point that even Hathaway herself noted people weren't that happy with it (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/08/anne_hathaway_catwoman_1.html). (While still pointing out that those who did like the costume "had excellent taste.") But this weekend, paparazzi photos of Hathaway in full-on Catwoman costume on set leaked ... and it's probably not going to change any minds.
http://media.zenfs.com/en-US/blogs/theprojector/495_catwomanmobile_092611.jpg (http://mit.zenfs.com/534/2011/09/495_catwomanmobile_092611.jpg)Now it's important to keep in mind that these are paparazzi shots, which could tell us absolutely nothing and we should probably be ignoring them all together. (Ask Johnny Depp about that (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/swear-johnny-depp-dark-shadows-photo-190005143.html).) But if you didn't like the previous picture, you're not gonna be crazy about these, because, well, Hathaway looks just like she did in the official photo, except now she has a mask and ears. (http://justjared.buzznet.com/2011/09/24/anne-hathaway-dark-knight-rises-set-with-christian-bale/) Any concerns you had before wouldn't be alleviated by this: She looks, essentially, like a lady walking around in a Halloween cat costume. Compare that to how scary and convincing Tom Hardy looks as Bane (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/tom-hardy-bane-scary-bald-dark-knight-rises-123201546.html). This shouldn't be considered Hathaway's fault, necessarily. The Catwoman costume is as common a costume as you can imagine, and if Halle Berry looked ridiculous in it (and she did (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E7_pSYsrXAU/Tl-O7Mp6oYI/AAAAAAAABkQ/t869zMh9M_g/s1600/Halle+Berry+Catwoman.jpg)), there's no shame in looking a bit silly in it yourself, at least in long-shot paparazzi photos, anyway. As always, it's all about context, and you can't argue that Nolan (and, for that matter, Hathaway) haven't earned the benefit of the doubt. But still. Not all that different from this (http://www.costumecraze.com/Movie-Costumes-Catwoman.html), really.

Also from the Los Angeles "Dark Knight Rises" shoot this weekend, and from that same series of photos: Video from the set that might have a spoiler. We're not watching it, because we don't want to have plot points spoiled, but Comic Book Movie (http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/joshw24/news/?a=47010&t=Mysterious_Set_Footage_From_iTDKRi_Sees _An_Embrace_Between_Batman_And_Catwoman) says there's a plot detail in there. Watch it at your own risk.

http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/real-steel-heads-hollywood-gamble-board-game-movies-220752623.html
Books have been made into movies. Video games have been made into movies. Even theme park rides have been made into movies -- with remarkable results. So why not board games? Why not, indeed. After all, pioneering 1985 adaptation Clue is firmly established as a cult classic -- and while this week's new robot-boxing release 'Real Steel' (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810130487/info) doesn't carry an official Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots license, it's widely held to be nigh-indistinguishable from the legendary board game/toy. Bizarre though it might be, 'Real Steel' is proving to be a hit with critics (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/real_steel/), but this is just the start. Led by a high-stakes deal between board game maker Hasbro and Universal Pictures and boasting the involvement of big names like Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, and Liam Neeson, a slew of family classics are set to head from cardboard to celluloid over the next few years.

http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/tom-cruise-wildest-stunts-232702780.html
Many movie stars like to boast about how they do their own stunts in their action movies, but Tom Cruise walks the walk. Specifically, he walks right out the window of the tallest building in the world. Cruise has done some wild stunts in his movie career, but they all pale in comparison to the one he did for "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." The 49-year-old actor climbed up -- and also ran down -- the mirrored glass exterior of the Burj Khalifa, the 181-story, 2,723-foot-tall skyscraper in Dubai that holds the record for the highest structure ever built.
