Thought i would start a thread and see how many of us zimbos have a criminal history.

I was done in for breaking street lights with my mates, pretty cool we made the news and everything only thing was we got the blame for all of the street lights being damaged although we were caught in hillside, we were accused of breaking them all over zim

I was arrested for filing a false police report....
I had my passport stolen when last in zim ... when we tried to get our plane tickets rescheduled we had to show SAA the police report and the idiot that wrote the report crossed out "stolen" instead of "lost" so SAA refused to give us our tickets... so i went back to the cop shop to get a corrected form and they arrested me for filing a false report, only after several hours of explaining did they release me... made it to the airport with 15 mins to spare...phew!!!

Another time was when i went hunting in kadoma but never took the licenses and the cops stoped me at a road block, back of truck full up of meat and with no supporting letter they said i had been poaching anyway thankful to say it was all sorted out down the cop shop about 8 hours later.

I was arrested once, hang on maybe a couple of times, anyhow this one was with Shayne, we were heading down Samora Michelle with a couple of cold ones and a few girls hanging out the sun roof, needless to say the fuzz did not think it was such a good idea. After a good hour of the sweetest talking you have ever heard i was back on my way to the party. Lucky

Oh yes another time, back in the days of St Gerrards (remember those partyies??) one of the oaks nichked a half jack, jumped in the car and as i drove off i happened the drive into some one, i was captured with my cousin, the other chaps vanished!! Again we managed to get off but what really pissed me off was that after it all there was no drink, nice hey!!!

Never been fully arrested, thanks to the cops in ZIM being so easy to bribe. Mostly for drink driving though. :smiley18:

Myself, Buschu and Neillhinds were detained once for riding a motorbike around Mandara in the one park by the shops with no heltmets.. When this cop just came out from no where and detained us for the afternoon. But we swindled our way out it by giving them rides on the bike and talking shit with them.. What a boring afternoon that turned out to be.

Actually.. if it was the Rob I know.. then the truth is, he wasn't a cop at all. He hung out with a fellow called Kevin Raath who is on the run after having been convicted of attempted murder. That particular Rob is wanted for various offences committed whilst he was pretending to be a cop.

There were a lot of cowboy cops... and a lot of corrupt ones. Unfortunately, each of us who contributed to bribery etc, etc contributed to the general decay of a once good system. And now look at the chaos!

I was a cop in Zim and whilst I see the funny side of some things.. I never knew that breaking the law was something to aspire to... For instance, drink driving - you have no idea what it is like to attend to the horrific accidents that I have seen, and then to tell someone their son/daughter or other relative died after an accident. I wonder what is so clever about that? or am I just being a fuddy duddy?

Good point Brian, now I don't think it is clever or funny at all but most of us did drink drive and thought nothing of it - hopefully most of us have grown up a bit now

its a good point lima and brian ill be the first to admit that i drank and drove, smoked and flew, and never ever thought of the consiquinces(sp) had i of had an accident, but the law in zim was pretty poor when it came to that sort of thing, if they had stamped down on it like they do in the uk im sure there would be a lot less drinking and driving.

I think we all did a bit of drinking under the influence, and you are right its not clever!! I have seen too many victims of DUI, and its not nice!! But saying that, if zim did put a law out, i dont think anyone would go out, unless there was an allocated driver in the group!

sal i find that drinking under the infuence the the right time to drink! yip the laws here are so strict one beer and thats it! but you learn to drop the car off first!

I agree.. drinking under the influence is definitely the best time to do it. I never claimed to be an angel... but I think that forethought saves a lot of tragedy.

There are laws in Zim.. a few of us normal cops did a lot of enforcement work and I was pleased one night when I was out drinking under the influence to hear two okes arguing about driving cause they were both hammered and neither wanted to get nailed by the white cops!!!

But in general, I guess it is all part of growing up to pull a fast one on the cops now and then.. I suppose the cops need to be up to providing the correct response

well they did put up road blocks every now and again on the borrowdale road on a friday night but then everyone just took the back roads, although i think some people were caught. But nowadays you just flash cash or they ask you, i was in zim last year when i was caught speeding on the way to the lake and i asked how much the fine was and it was like $30 000 or something so i asked to pay it there and then i pulled out $20 000 grand and said ill give you the other ten if i get a receipt and the cop took the twenty grand and be on your way, very corrupt.
