SA could just not afford to lose hosting this one, but there are a few in the Western World thinking about this aspect :

it's what i've been saying the western world could push for things to happen, SA economy is screwed with out it, all these forigners that have invested in businesses and houses for the world cup would sell and sell fast the market would crash, the govt can't support the back lash as they have forked out buck for the stadiums that would never be used or comleted... and eish but i'm not the one sorry for u

Mr Mbeki should publicly admit:
that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe
that the recent elections were neither free nor fair
that results were rigged after the event
that Mr Mugabe and his ZANU PF government are using violence and deprivation to intimidate opposition supporters in the lead up to the run-off elections
that the run-off elections should be held within the legislated period
that the run-off elections should be monitored by the UN, SADC and the EU
that an arms embargo should be placed on Zimbabwe
that Mr Mugabe is illegally holding power in Zimbabwe.

Mbeki should be kaking by now. Where has fifa been. As one of the most influential players in this game I really think that the South African people will never stand to lose the World Cup. Maybe they could even pass a vote of no confidence in their leader if the crisis in Zim is not brought to hand. Why is Jacob Zuma not standing up to Mbeki, he is not high on Bobs favourite list. Where are the DP and all the other aligned parties, they too can put pressure on Mbeki, why has Madiba not put his foot down? These are questions that need to be addressed.

Madiba wont get involved...and thats he remains the only respected politician to come out of africa...he said he was leaving and he never looked back...to think bob could, at one point, be seen in the same light as him, now he isnt even worthy of wiping Madiba's arse

A leak from FIFA that they have a Plan 'B', contingency, plan to move the World Cup if they need to...........
Could be a good move if it puts pressure on Zim but a bad move for the man on the street if it's moved...........:smiley5:
