Am watching this going on live in London as I write, and boy, I hope the likes of Ebagum are watching it too! Way to go!:smiley32:

We had Trooping The Colour at St Georges School Cadets - every blood year. We were told that our school was the only one in the Commonwealth which had battle colours. Apparently the Cadets played a part in the defence of the laager in Bulawayo in the Matabele Rebellion, in 1896-1897. The School was in Bulawayo then.

Thanks Biffon

We hated all the practice parades. The best was when Father (Captain) Nixon went on leave. That left Lieutenant "Spike" Nichols in charge. At a practice, "Spike" didn't like something. Instead of shouting, "Parade Halt", he just held up his arms and shouted, "Whoa!".

The guys at the front heard this. The ones at the back didn't. The result was a tangle of khaki uniforms, .303 rifles and bayonets. :smiley35:

Cheers
