I got an email saying a friend has added me as a friend on Plaxo/Pulse.

Does anybody know what this is, or does anybody use it? Is it like another Facebook?

Facebook, MySpace, Snapfish, Tagged, Plaxo, etc, do we really need another social networking tool? I'm getting overload. :whistling:

Yup. Plaxo is another social networking site.

Flickr, Twitter, Yelp, Picasa, Delicious, linkedin, freidnfeed... aaaarh, social networking overload!

Soon we won't have to leave the house to meet anybody.

Coffee shops will all close down. Bars and clubs will be empty.

Husbands and wives will start poking each other in order to poke each other, if you know what I mean.

Ed joined the group "I'm just going for a sh!t, be back in a minute..."

Ed has a virtual hangover from drinking too many virtual tequilas.

The world's gone mad.

lol They have there uses, but I agree - it's getting way out of hand. Just about every day I seem to get an email from someone inviting me to some social site or other!! My son even chats to his friends who all live within a block of his house. Now does that make sense?????

A friend of mine commented on this the other day. His son and a friend were sitting on the couch next to each other both engrossed in their own mobile phones.

He said something to the effect of "Hey guys, you're supposed to be playing together, not sitting there ignoring each other?!"

Very chuffed with himself, his sone said - "We ARE playing to each other dad, we're talking to each other on Mixit!"

Apparently it's 1c a text message or something.

A sign of the times. :smiley36:

I was over Facebook after a few weeks. I cant stand going to people's profiles and it takes 30 mins to download the 85 000 applications they have installed.

A lot of my business acquaintances use Plaxo as a kind of universal address book

Here's one I like :
