My family lost over 30 years of photos & films, together with every other bloody thing they had when they had to go. I still say if I`d been there I`d have taken them & ditched the clothes. But words are cheap I guess

In 1971, "Lake Mac" was choked up with weed. They killed it off by spraying with a chemical called 2 4 D. At the time, it was argued that side effects could include abnormalities in unborn children.

On 6 May 1972, our second child was born with massive "congenital heart disease". He lived two days.

Is this co-incidence, or what?

Thanks Sam. That was 37 years ago. We have moved on, but I still wonder if it is a co-incidence? These days, there could be a class action lawsuit, if enough people came forward.

That would have been interesting. :smiley17:

Don't worry, Jiggs. For me it is history, but I wonder if there were many other similar cases. It is too late to do anything now.

Makes one wonder, Howard, it could well be connected.

The scary part Howard is that as a very very young farmer in 1979 we used to swear by 2.4D and it was handled without any protective gear. And today I wouldnt touch the stuff with a nuclear suit on I guess that is the one good thing about organics. And the worse thing was we were doing it thinking we were being efficient and we were poisoning ourselves How f**KING SMART ARE WE

And Howard, it is terrible to loose a child at any age but one at 2 days................. My heart goes out to you!!

S'OK Mullah. From the time the child was born, they told us that there was no chance. That was a long time ago. I didn't mean to look for sympathy.

It is the 2.4D bit which interested me. That was our drinking water. :smiley3: Let's get back to happy things. :smiley20:
