always a bloody problem with this flaming thing!!! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif

Trying to install software on my laptop - it says I have to be an administrator

1. I am the only person who uses or even has an account on the laptop
2. when i go in users and accounts, my thing is listed as 'administrator'

any ideas why its beefing me or how to get around it?

Thank you!

Love it or hate it, thats the way Vista goes .... ! Dont worry there will be a new OS coming out in 2years time. Beta version is already floating around... looks fancy, but think everyone is going to have upgrade their comps though !

If it is annoying you to much then swap over to Linux / Ubuntu the new free system that is out and about .....

Stop using Microsoft. Vote with your feet. Come on over to the dark side. Use linux!

I get that message about not having "admin rights" if I try to start a new project in Adobe Premiere Pro. It only happens when try to create it in a root drive (is that the term?) like "G". When I create a new folder, within that drive, it's OK.

Cheers

if you right click the setup file, there is usually a run as administrator option on there, it's to stop numbties loading crap onto their machines... downside is it also stops legit applications as well... however i have to say once you have it working it's alright, things aren't that bad... however i still only have it on one of my laptops the rest are on xp...
