How do you get a picture to appear on the page like Shayne and Co. do in eg: count by image thread - rather than this this:

8762

I want the image to appear directly on the page and not as a clickie dingus and so small?

Right click the picture - select Properties. Highlight and copy the properties, then post the pic in the normal way, using the Pic icon in the advanced post

Chick, what you are talking about is when you upload pictures and they come out small. In the image count up game, we are linking to internet pictures and hence they come out actual size.

Chick
08-21-2008, 01:45 PM
Ahhh thanks Shayne. Do you use the pic icon to link with the internet picture?

Howard, now stop showing off - cause I can't get your system to work!!

Maybe another step by absolute step explanation in very simple language would help me.

I've asked you before not to put my family pics up on the forum....

Ummmm, that's not quite step by step enough for me. I am pleased to say Nyala and I just don't get it, so it's not just me.

When I tried it your way, ie: as in first explanation, I just get a boxie with a red cross in it. I have tried that system 3 times and failed.

what you do is find your picture on the internet such as on google images

like here
"http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/54/Day_old_chick_black_background.jpg/800px-Day_old_chick_black_background.jpg"

then click advanced on tcb and click on the little button that looks like mountains

go back to your picture and highlight the http:// bit in the address bar, right click click copy then come back to tcb and paiste the link on the place that says
"please enter the url of your image" - making sure you hightlight the http://

like so

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/54/Day_old_chick_black_background.jpg/800px-Day_old_chick_black_background.jpg

Thanks ZJ and Howard. The problem was I did not delete the hppt/ already placed in the advanced boxie so my url link had two hppt/'s.

The moral to this story is, "Never have two http://'s in the boxie".

.

Chick
08-21-2008, 03:47 PM
Yes - that is the moral of this story.

Another is: Chick needs step by step directions in the simple form. letter by letter, move by move, click by click. lol. What can you do?

zimajays
08-21-2008, 04:36 PM
nah chick its not that at all - we just need to type slower...

Woohoo, it works.

Does this mean I have to upload my personal pics to photo bucket to upload them here?

joemac
08-29-2008, 07:14 AM
No.

You can still add your own pictures. Click on Post reply and then " manage attachments"

Nyala

That gives me the normal thumbnail pic - how do I upload it so that it comes out in the actual size?

joemac
08-29-2008, 07:48 AM
It shows on the post as a thunbnail, but you click on it to bring it up to size.

Nyala
08-29-2008, 10:45 AM
Thanks, Joe. I knew that but wondered if I could upload personal pics in their normal size. :)

Shayne
08-29-2008, 10:57 AM
The object of thumbnails is less overhead when loading on client PC's therefore allowing the user to click and view the picture of their choice.

Imagine priya or any other user on a slow connection trying to download 20 massive pics rather than thumbnails?

Nyala
08-29-2008, 12:01 PM
Thats fair enough - thanks.
