looking for names for Ridgebacks

we have friends that are battling to name their ridgeback pups, they have one of each... (male and female) any idea's for names? ( i could only think of names like Cecil and Rhodes or locations Salisbury and Gwelo etc... any more?

I had a black ridgeback called Chaka. He was a brilliant dog. How about something like Tombi and Bantu, any of the Shona or Ndebele names seem to suit them.

we have had a few ridgbacks one know as Gunyan? cant remember why it was a long african name got shortend down to Gunyan. Had female ridgback cross with lab - female, Goldie. Had another one ridgeback crossed with alsation who looked like he was old from a puppy so my mom called him Chembi short for the african name for old man.

I would call a ridgeback "spot" or maybe "Henry" or "George"

I had a pure breed whose name was as long as a black mans willy but I called him Jamami which in swahili meant "Peaceful" He could stalk a burgler and pin him in seconds by the throat and hold him til I got there

i loved that dog, remember when you got him, he was so small!! think i have a photo somewhere!! so sad he is gone now!!

i think you should definatly give it an african name!!
