I hope that there is some justice and the Sharks finally win...I would also like to thank Sky for showing a reply of the World Darts Premiership instead of the season opener

F()cking Crap game the Force & Blues had... better team won on the night but to be fair the Force went to sleep as they usually do in the second half... starting to grate on my nerves!!

Force were their own worst enemies last night. They were good one minute and average the next. Not that the Blues were any better. Mind you, it is early days and Force will improve as the tournament progresses. Mortlock was on fire last night.

Not feeling too confident about the Hurricanes/Waratahs game tonight as the Hurricanes are also slow starters. :smiley18:

Hard to know what to make of the Blues performance last night. Are they destined for great things this year or are they going to be mediocre? They were missing several of their star players but that's no guarantee that they will greatly improve when they return. They've been so erratic over the last couple of years.

Force were also missing three of their stars so no excuses there... they were both crap - the blues kicking game was terrible and the Force were lazy in defence and made too many small errors and turnovers... short arm penalty count was something like 13 and full arm was 10. you cant win a game if youre turning over so much ball.

the Force back line did seem to be more inventive and threatening though, the Blues were too predictable and were running sideways most of the time.. their Forwards won them the game.

how good was the Cheetahs/lions game go the Lions!!! woohoo tiger will be happy with that! great dropgoal at the death to steal the win!

canes looked very ordinary, set plays weren't that great and struggled to get going...

I think I might have found a flaw with the seeded refs thingy...a Sydney based franchise with a Sydney based ref blowing the game is always gonna be a little dodgy...Lachie Turner's try was lucky, and Dane Coles unlucky not to have scored 2.

I noticed that there was an Aussie ref for the Brumbies game too. Not saying that's the reason they won, but you can guarantee that there are going to be problems and controversy later on in the competition if this practice continues.

I liked the idea of the refs panel at first...spose not every ref is as accurate as Mark Lawrence, Jonathon Kaplan or Kelvin Deaker

This weekends games are:

20 Feb Hurricanes v Highlanders
20 Feb Waratahs v Chiefs
20 Feb Force v Cheetahs
20 Feb Stormers v Reds
21 Feb Brumbies v Crusaders
21 Feb Bulls v Blues
21 Feb Sharks v Lions

Metinks the ones to see - Sky Sports & Justintv permitting (cheers for the recommendation!) - will be the Force/Cheetahs clash, Brumbies/Crusaders & the Sharks/Lions game should excting with both teams winning yesterday (Sharks having a rather slow start though - best they get that bug out of the system ASAP!!!)

Interesting start... I wasn't expecting the Tahs to beat the Canes, or to be honest, the Crusaders to beat the Chiefs.

The Sharks win was positive I think - they kept their heads and clawed their way back. The Stormers couldn't keep up with the physicality - some of them were mush by the time the game was over. Mujati looked like he'd been through 19 consecutive rounds of boot camp. I still don't get what al the hype over the Stomers is.

Tough game from the Force tonight ..unlucky not to win by more but the Cheetahs defence was tough as nails... That Man Demas was atrocious in the first half - redeemed himself with a try but im surprised he wasnt subbed, shocking ball fielding and tackling.

Tough conditions too, played in 30 deg heat, both sides were dropping players like flies with cramp.. i think the Cheetahs used every Sub and the Force nearly all theirs...

Great to See Staniforth back though, he was visibly PUMPED to be back on the field!

Stormers 27 - Reds 24

The Stormers had some great opportunities that some brilliant Reds defence were able to stop just short of the line! Methinks, though, the Stormers were lucky to hang on to it as it could have gone either way?

In fairness, the Chiefs have had one of the worst S14 draws so far. First the Crusaders, then the Waratahs and now the Sharks.

They lost both matches by under 7 points, which isn't exactly a thrashing by anyones standards. If they improve, and they usually do they could be quite competitive.

If you recall last years S14, the Blues started off last years S14 very strongly, and looked like dead certain to make the final. Half way through the competition the wheels fell off in a very big way for them.

I just wonder if the same is going to happen with one of the other of the top teams this year..:confusing:

usually does Shifts....

all this chest beating is pretty worthless this early in the season...

everyone tipping the aussie teams to step up this year but so far theyve had pretty easy opposition (yes the saders were easy opposition for the brumbies -missing 4 top players)...

will the Force implode? - doubt it...but possible
will the tahs back up their finals spot last year? - maybe
will the brumbies live up to the hype - doubt it (not this year!)
will the reds crash & burn? - almost certainly

will the chiefs choke? - maybe, probably.. as usual
will the canes live up to the hype - maybe, could be the dark horse
will crusaders keep their form - doubt it, theyve lost their aura.
will the highlanders ever win a game? - hehe should do, im impressed with them this year much better skills and some exciting up n comers
will the blues show their pedigree - Nah!!!

will the sharks kick arse - yeah they get my vote.
will the bulls kick arse - nah they'll crash n burn
will the stormers live up to their expectations? - they have the talent but not the mindset
will the cheetahs come last - yeah as usual.. mud sucking bottom dwellers
will the lions come out firing - well i thought they might in the first week but now im not so sure.
..

well theres my view as it stands after week2...
