ZIMBABWE28- 24URUGUAY
Zimbabwe staged a minor boilover with a win over more fancied Uruguay in the pool stages to help set themselves up for a spot in the Bowl quarter finals...
Zimbabwe raced ahead to a comfortable lead in the first stansa.. 21 points to 5
or was it?
Uruguay staged a spirited comeback in the second half. It was too little too late however and Zimbabwe took the honours with a shock 28 - 24 win over the talented Uruguayans
Wesley Mbanje showed his talent with two tries and helped setup a third. And Grant Mitchell was great with 4 conversions from 4 tries... made more difficult due to the drop kick requirement!
Their next game today is the Bowl quarter final against Georgia another more fancied opponent but one they have beaten comfortably before...

not the UK...sky doesn't feel the need to show 7s, or more than 2 S14 matches a week...
they do however feel the need to show darts, snooker and woman's cricket

fox sports showed the RWC sevens live for most of the matches... the game was on 11:30 pm last night for me but i was babysitting the neighbours kids so was staying up for the neighbours to come collect... they arrived as zim scored their winning try... hehe was great, im sure they thought i was mad jumping around on the couch at midnight without any alcohol in me...

That was great to watch. Zimbabwe was the only African country to get any silverware.:smiley32:
Kenya appear to be getting better with every tournament.
Didn't expect Wales to win the world cup that's for sure. Real surprise. Mind you, with the number of injuries that SA and NZ are carrying at the moment, someone else had to win it.

each to their own mate....
i have a personal interest as Liam Middleton their coach was at school with me and we are still good mates... There were only four amateur teams in the SRWC this year and three of them are from Africa... So it just goes to show that We have the goods if not the money to deliver big results!... next stop Hong Kong!!! and hopefully one better with a Plate win!
