Anyone going to watch the Warriors vs the Eels on Saturday? It's Steve Price's 300th game :smiley32:

Most of those games haven't been for the warriors though have they? Shayne might be, he is pally with them.

Leagies are all Union wannabe's anyway

how can you enjoy that game? 75mins of chest beating and pain and 5 mins of speed, agility, great running lines and maybe a try.

Definitely going to the game! Should be awesome.

Union = average 46mins of playing time YYYAAAAWNNN!
League = average 74mins of playing time! Sweet.

Union = 335 scrum resets per game, 235 drop outs, 110 line outs, 983 pussy attempts at drop goals cause they're little babies, about 6667 penalty attempts at posts while 29 players twiddle their fingers.

League = big hits, big trys, faster game and only about 5 drop goal attempts the entire season total!

Crusaders vs Highlanders is what rugby is turning out to be. No wonder viewership is down 40% in the last 3 years. I used to be the biggest rugby fan ever and like everyone else around me, we saw the light!

Do we want to get into this argument, or shall I just drop it?

Ja, he spent most of his career with the Bulldogs before joining the Warriors about 3-4 years ago.

Doesn't come close to union in my opinion, but I don't mind it as a sport.

I used to go to see the London Broncos play at Twickenham. Tickets for those games quite cheap and the stadium wasn't far from where I lived at the time. I suppose that over time I learned to appreciate it.

I've got a soft spot for the Warriors, so nowadays I'll watch their matches if I remember and happen to be near a TV set at the time. Other than that, I don't really bother with league too much.

league - touch rugby without with tackles

Funny how they're trying to make union just like league by changing all the union rules. In fact does anyone even know the rules - they've changed it about 8 times in about 2 years!!!

And this is the injustice I was talking about, because Rugby League is the better game in every way. It's faster, more open, more exciting. In League, the ball is always in motion; in Union, the ball always seems to be stuck under a pile of bodies. In League, most of the points come from tries; in Union, most of the points come from penalties. League games are all-action, with barely enough time to squeeze in TV replays; Union games involve lots of standing around in bewilderment as the play gets halted for constant rule infringements.

The reason for the constant rule infringements is that Union has far too many rules. Nobody knows them all: not the players, not the commentators, and certainly not the tossers in burberry who shout 'heave' on the sidelines. Perhaps fittingly for a game played by people who grow up to be lawyers, games often hinge on the interpretation of obscure rules and precedents that are applied almost at random. It's like an ultra-violent version of Mornington Crescent.

Shayne, anyone can find a quote on the internet to support any argument.

In league, there seems to be one pretty narrow set of skills. They run into someone, get tackled, and start again. Over and over and over. Every now and again, one will fail to get tackled and score a try. In rugby you have scrums (real ones) rucks, mauls etc, etc. Of course they have more rules, there is more going on. Sure it's not perfect, and I am not so fussed about the ELV's that we have to play by this year either (you can now defend a rolling maul by pulling it down), but at least I can play this one. We don't all have to have the same body shape and skills.

SWe don't all have to have the same body shape and skills.

So what you're really saying is that rugby is for fattys? Which is a valid point because rugby is littered with them ie Wallabies has about 8 fattys in the side which is probably why they dont win. League = no fattys just muscle = major hits per game = money well worth spent.

I just got the quote cause it was said better than i could.

:D

I think you're right. Each to their own though. I'm sure one day I'll get bored of league and go back to union.

I used to play social touch, and I promise you, every time we lost it was because we got bad decisions from the ref:)
