If anyone would like to introduce their kids to the forum and arcade world in a totally safe environment with complete control over your kid's movements and interaction... my husband and I have started up a new completely blocked to public and search engine access kiddy forum. We are well aware of internet protocols and law (and we have owned a few forums between us for 5 years). At this stage, the ages range from 6-13 - mainly kids of South African/Zimbabwean descent. Our own 2 kids are members, so we are well on top of keeping things 100% safe. (18 members at present: 3 admins (all reliable), 4 parents, 10 kids, 1 kiddy test account)

The forum provides an area for kids to talk amongst themselves about general stuff, the arcade, tournaments and homework help. Parents are allowed to keep the conversation flowing, but there is a secret area on the forum where they can discuss things - not seen by the kids when they are logged in.

The requirements are that the parent registers first - I manually accept their registration and set their user account to a super moderator one (mini-me major) - meaning that they have moderator control of the board. Then you can register your kid/s - they are manually accepted by us as well (mini-me minors), once I know what their usernames are and who they belong to. The same email address can be used for all family registrations and at no time is a child allowed to say what their real name or location is on the board.

Parents are completely in charge of their kids at all times regarding posting, the arcade and tournaments amongst one another. The pm facility is turned off for the kids as well, so that everything is all open and above board.

Please feel free to send me a pm if you are interested and I will answer questions and provide you with more information if you like.

Obviously users known to me on thechiefbaboon would be preferable, as I would be more likely to know if you have kids etc. If I don't know you, then you will have to work damn hard at convincing me that you indeed have kids and don't happen to be a psycho nutter.

Cool!! But my kids are all in their 20s, so we don't qualify. Good idea though!

awesome stuff, there are child protection agencies out there it might be a good idea to let them know/give them an account it's their job to track everyone as well, and every helping hand counts.

I think it's an awesome idea :)
