The Boks have a bye this coming week end:
New Zealand are playing away. Let us see if they can make two games to nil?...

Boards and Patson will be shouting loudly for the All Blacks!

The missus says all session is denied if the the All Blacks loose..... so im also pinning my hopes on the uncreative, horribly predictably, doubley negative, tactically barren, poorly coached, overrated (this season) under weight in the pack, slow in the line, and lacking Chiefs players ALL BLACKS.....

The way the Aussies handed the ball to the Bokke every opportunity they had, I don't hold out much hope for them this season. I think the AB's have got it in hand already.

I don't really mind either way who wins, but I think you guys under estimate the power of the Wallabies to come back from a loss.

Tricky Nicky

Yeah, but the Aussies lost the first game to the All Blacks and did not come back to beat the Boks. I think with Dan Carter back in the side it should be the AB's all the way. :smiley20:

NOBODY is as good as Morne, and with a kicking coach like Percy the only way is up for the young guy.

Tricky Nicky

I could not agree more - Percy was one of the best they ever had - good on them.

I think the Aussies may as well bow out now...with Dan back in the team any glimmer of hope they had is dashed. I'm not usually negative toward the Wallabies but they have done themselves no favours this time around.

haha all these AB's & Bok supporters are all so predictable.. bag the Wallabies all you want the fact is they win a lot at home and they usually win WELL!

2007
Aus beat NZ 20-15 in Melbourne
Aus beat boks 25-17 in Sydney

2008
Aus beat Boks 16-9 in Perth
Aus beat NZ 34 -19 in Sydney
nz beat Aus 28-24 in Brisbane (aus were ahead 17-7 at half time)

oh so predictable... BRING IT ON!

Tricky Nicky

Yeah, but to be fair the Boks were not playing as well as they are now in 2008. You may well be right but time will tell.

to be fair the boks are winning and that is what is important but at what cost?

Im fairly certain that watching a team win off penalties is not the most satisfying thing for fans of either side. nuff said.

Normally I'd agree...but its the fact we are getting penalties on attack, and you get the feeling that eventually the try was going to come...the only dissapointing thing is that we botched a try when the aussies were 2 men down

Is there any rugger this weekend apart from the ANZ Cup games out of Kiwiland? Sky aren't showing anything other than the aforementioned & there's no Currie Cup (on Sky at least) either. Looks like a Saturday in front of the PC watching Kostaz007 on www.justin.tv (http://www.justin.tv) ; at least they know how to look after the fans.

Not that I know of ZB, but has anyone been watching the Air NZ cup? Shit there has been some good rugby on. Much better rugby than the super 14. Watched Canterbury take down Waikato last night.

Having checked the Supersport website there is definitely CC action on tomorrow arvie so hopefully it'll be on justin.tv. Griquas play the Bulls at 2pm GMT & the Lions are taking on the Sharks at 4pm GMT so l'm sure there'll be some movement on the log.

These are the proposed players for the week end:

Wallabies team:

15. James O′Connor, 14. Lachie Turner, 13. Adam Ashley-Cooper, 12. Berrick Barnes, 11. Drew Mitchell, 10. Matt Giteau, 9. Luke Burgess, 8. Richard Brown, 7. George Smith, 6. Rocky Elsom, 5. Nathan Sharpe, 4. James Horwill, 3. Al Baxter, 2. Stephen Moore, 1. Benn Robinson

Run on reserves:
16. Tatafu Polota-Nau, 17. Ben Alexander, 18. Dean Mumm, 19. David Po####, 20. Will Genia, 21. Ryan Cross, 22. Peter Hynes

After a year out from Test Rugby Elsom will make his comeback to Wallaby side on the blindside flank. The presence of Elsom necessitates to another change, with Richard Brown being moved from the side to No. 8 in place of Wycliff Palu.
Adam Ashley-Cooper moves from fullback to centre for the injured Mortlock with young James OConner getting a start at 15. I expect that Carter will pepper him from the get go.

All Blacks

All Blacks: 15-Mils Muliaina, 14-Joe Rokocoko 13-Conrad Smith 12-Luke McAlister, 11-Sitiveni Sivivatu, 10-Daniel Carter, 9-Jimmy Cowan, 8-Keiran Read, 7-Richie McCaw (captain), 6-Jerome Kaino, 5-Issac Ross, 4-Brad Thorn, 3-Owen Franks, 2-Andrew Hore, 1-Tony Wood####.

Reserves: 16-Aled de Malmanche, 17-John Afoa, 18-Jason Eaton, 19-Rodney So′oialo, 20-Brendon Leonard, 21-Stephen Donald, 22-Ma′a Nonu.

Would you AB and Wallabie supporters agree with this.

How good is the Wallabie's track record at ANZ Sydney?

Answer: 3 out of the last 4. Sydney is a good venue for them, 7 out of the last 10.

So kicking is boring Graeme Henry? I bet you he is thanking his lucky stars he had DC and not Donald at first 5 today.

ABs got out of jail big time today...McCallister and Rokocoko have got to be dropped...pick Corey Jane dammit!!!!

Respect to the AB's, they have shown that they have what it takes to do the hard stuff, win and still make the game look good...

Sorry dude, I have to disagree...the only reason that match was so good was because of the ABs mistakes...how many tries did the wallabies score?
They wallabies played as well as they could and lost. The ABs were utter shite and won...says a lot.

And my closing arguement for all the naysayers who say the Boks play boring rugby...the only time Sitiveni got the ball on saturday was when the wallabies kicked it him, how often did Lachie Turner touch the ball? doesn't sound too exciting to me...and come on, so the boks score all their points from penalties...incase you haven't noticed there was a reason the penalties were so kickable...the ABs and wallabies kept getting pinged when the boks were on the attack!!!

rant over...time to look to this weekend

biffon
08-25-2009, 08:28 AM
respectfully disagree with you Barto
The AB's looked menacing in attack yes they did lack structure and made too many basic errors but then that would happen if your 12 gets smashed in the first minute of the game and the ref finally catches on to your captains cheating ways (YAY!!)... the key to me that made that game great was that both teams took their opportunities to RUN the ball and not shove it down the fullbacks throat every 3 seconds...

Yes the quality was nowhere near that of the AB's and wallabies teams of 2001-2 and yes the Boks are the better "results" team but i don't like their style - thats me being 100% subjective... *gives AS the two finger salute

objectively.... the Boks have outplayed the Wallabies and AB's this year and will likely win the tri-nations. its good to see their ever parochial supporters are happy too :D

Biff, I will be disagreeing with you. The Bokke are strong and they are real stunning at the mo. On winning the Trinations, I am not too sure, they will probably pull an AB on the crowd and choke. I hope I am wrong.........

I gotta say I'm a tad bit nervous seeing as the starting XV hasn't even arrived in Perth at the moment...but if we play to strengths (Morne Steyn's boot) I think we might be able to all but wrap it up the TriNations
