Sorry... but being that my old man was a pilot and so am I, I have issues with folks who jump out of perfectly good airplanes... it's wrong..
Mad, brave, but still wrong.

some of those guys look soooo young, I hope they all survived the experience.
I can't even jump off the 3m diving board, the thaught of jumping out of an aeroplane is simply terrifying!

They were young - around 21. On those courses, the instructors kept emphasising that candidates could give up at any time. It was purely voluntary.

I used to jump out of serviceable aircraft when I was young and foolish. After a particularly bad accident where I broke my tailbone, I gave it up. Despite popular belief, they CANNOT put your ass in a sling.

HN try 18 when you make your 1st jump. yes it was voluntary ............ But PRIDE kept you going
Also it was easier to jump out the plane than to stay and smell the fear and the puke because you had a pilot who thought it would be funny to see how many got airsick before they went out the door Bloody airforce taxi drivers:whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling :

Father dearest was in Squadrons 1, 2 and 7.... he might have made you throw your lungs up but he might have been a tad upset if you tried to jump out of his hunter..... :whistling:

Aye. Have his log books floating around somewhere, know he flew K-cars, was with Noxid on his little jaunt over Zambia annoying ATC in his Hunter and blasted around in a Vamp for a while... got his ugly mug plastered all over Contact and was in some of the adverts for RhoAF... got the photos lurking somewhere... will have a dig about...
All said and done... not sure if he did jump out anything though...?

Ha ha ha ha.
I expressed some interest in taking a parachute jump at the Byo Flying Club. A man came to see me and discuss my joining - he had his leg in plaster!! Not such a good image. Anyhoo - tried it 3 times and got me log book, decided I prefer a less expensive way to get a thrill.

And when your parachute doesnt open that is not the problem - It is the sudden stop that kills you
