there is one for sale from a guy at work he's happy to drop the price down to 5k for me it's a 2k model and and only has 67k on the clock
i'm just like sooooo tempted, specially after a little rendevous with a granite wall on friday while taking avoiding action from some clown who pulled out in front of me i'm thinking time to sell and maybe time to buy..-

High maintenance costs. Expensive all around. Oil change approx. £90 for oil only. Spark plug change - are you ready for this? - approx. £150 for plugs and £150 for labour. Mirror glass if it is auto dipping £250 - glass only, not mirror unit. Want some more?

Pardon my pig ignorance but just to be sure what an ML430 is l typed it into google & with the predictive text in the search box an option entitled "ML430 problems" came up so maybe worth a read before parting with the readies.

Your money, your choice.
Remember - unleaded petrol is £1.10 at last count (SU £1.18) and about to rise. So save up minimum approx. £1200 PA for petrol and £300 average annual servicing and repair.
Oh, and 40k-60k is when plug service is undertaken.

Had one briefly as a Co Car, no one wants them in the UK anymore, 3.2ltr V8 petrol, they are going for £1500 - 2000.00 and thats for a lovely one. Again on a W plate and up.
Bullet proof motors capable of very high miles if lovingly looked after, not the best on fuel, can make a series 11 landrover look economical at times, best if converted onto LPG though couple of long range tanks and then it starts making them a worthwhile purchase.
Constant 4 x 4 so heavy wear on the drive train, diff, hubs, bearings, Gearbox dependent on how it has been driven and serviced. Tyres arnt cheap for them either.
However if it has FSH etc etc then look at getting at least a 150 000 miles out of it, before needing any major work. ( Totally dependent on driving though )
Nice driving position, and if it has the fully spec and 7 seater pack then that is plus. Parts available through none Merc Dealers or via the net are not to bad if you shop around carefully. Insurence in the UK not cheap and tax rolls in at £400 a year for it.
However all said and done, its still a lovely car and not one to be sniffed at.
Have had a 320 S, 3.0ltr TD on a 2000 reg, full spec + Extras, now that was pure heaven on 4 wheels, london to glasgow on just over half a tank and it was no slouch either, but the best part was it didnt even feel like you were having to drive !
