Having bought my pc with Windows Vista as its OS ("get rid of it & go back to XP or get Windows 7!" l hear you shout?) & it uses IE8. Yes, yes, l know l should use Mozilla but for whatever reason l don't. Anyway, a number of websites, Google search enquiries, etc, have somehow burned themselves in as favourites viewable when selecting the down arrow in the IE search box at the top of the screen. Even though l have used the delete search history as well as CCleaner l can't get rid of them - any ideas on how to clear it? Cheers guys.

First up : I don't have ie8.

So, at my uninformed finest. ....

have you deleted the cache? that is, make sure cache, temporary internet files, cookies and history are all ticked when you delete the browsing history? This should really do it. Unless you have them as bookmarks maybe? check your bookmarks folder.

The problem is with IE8 not deleting your browsing history when going shift + ctrl + delete. I typed "deleting search history in IE8" in google & there are a lot of people having the same problem so l'll wade through the forums & see what is suggested there unless you know of a fix? Cheers bru.

I know you may have done this.

Go to Tools in IE8, normally top left on your browser, scroll down till you see this.
Delete Browsing History. Click on it then check every box, then click on delete.

Hope this helps.
