I gather the movie didnt appeal to you then
nope, not my type of film.... the above though is a piss take in that the story line is practically identical to pocahontas with a few name changes......
Guess you have to see Avatar (and Pocahontas) to understand.... :)

A bit of an aside here as well as an oldie.
Did you here about Disney wanting to make an animated version of the Will Carling/Lady Di affair? They are going to call it Pokeyourhighness.
Okay back on track now with main thread.

There was a storyline, typical American story.... sole marine saves world... good crowd beat bad crowd - some love - happy ending....but the visual impact was such that it didn't really need much of a story.

Avatar has awesome graphics but the story is a not new and is a rip off of "Call me Joe" from the 1950's.
Like Avatar, Call Me Joe (http://io9.com/tag/callmejoe/) centers on a paraplegic — Ed Anglesey — who telepathically connects with an artificially created life form in order to explore a harsh planet (in this case, Jupiter). Anglesey, like Avatar's Jake Sully, revels in the freedom and strength of his artificial created body, battles predators on the surface of Jupiter, and gradually goes native as he spends more time connected to his artificial body.

don't care - I'm going to see it again. Apparently loads of people are coming down with depression after watching the movie because they want the real world to be as beautiful as in the movie - "giggle".

I noticed that although they are super huge aliens, they arent well hung. In fact the main dude is wearing a loin cloth that wouldnt even cover my kudu meat.

sies man.... whatever!!!! Although the movie cost mega bucks to see and in the local cinema the sound was so high it was painful on the ears, and regardless of dem lacking the 'kagoolies' and there be no storyline to speak of, I am still going again.
