Mmmm... advice required. My son is due to arrive on planet earth within the next three weeks. I am due, shortly, to travel to Johannesburg where this event will take place.:smiley20:

As this is my first child any advice would be welcome.. either that or could you tell me a fair price to expect if I sell him on eBay??????:smiley36:

always start at £0.99, it increases the interest from the buyers.

No other advise mate, I have no kids and dont plan on for a while

1)learn how to wipe a baby's bum with one hand!!
2)be prepared for long sleepless nights for the first 6 months...

3)make sure you steer away from the black shit that comes out of your kid on the first 72hrs - its stinks like nothing on earth and sticks like glue to everything!

4)take a video camera into the delivery room, it makes labour much quicker, cause the mom doesnt particularly want hours apon hours of video of her nether regions!

Hahaha... well so far I seem to be doing OK, cause the wife will stay with her mother for the first three months...so hopefully I will not have the sleepless nights (good planning hey???).:whistling:

Thanks you for reminding me of the "black shit"..which we, in medical circles refer to as Malena! Yes not good smelling - shall try to be in the bar for the first 72 hours practising standing on my ear anyway!:smiley32:

Should I put a reserve price??:smiley36:

:smiley32: awesome stuff m8! give us a call when you get to jozi, am sure you'll need a drinkin buddy to help you celebrate your impending blessing...on the advise side, cant really help as i have no chiddlers of my own, but something i learnt from my old man comes to mind- there is no greater gift a father can give his children than to love their mother deeply & for all time...

Thanks all - very encouraging words...Shayne, I need to introduce you to a long time friend of mine.. he also likes kids - but finds the thin ones are very chewy!:smiley29:

As to the loving the mother thing...well NO problems there, after all, that is how we got here! lol. Seriously though, she is, without any shadow of a doubt the very best!:smiley9:

Tiger - drop me a pm if you'd like to link up in joke box...I will be there on the30th...and have some bottles of klippies waiting! hehe!:smiley17:

Photo's??? If you insist, but you DO know that ALL babies actually do not resemble anyone other than Winston Churchil??:smiley36:

Hey congrats,

just being down that road only 3 months ago i can tell you that it is one awsome experience. Word of advise, whilst your missus and the new addition are in hospital gtet as much sleep as possible, go out get drunk and spend what cash you have on you. These will all dissapear when they get home!! Saying that you are in for the best time of your life.

Thanks Steve, I will take your advice - we have been shopping every week for the little shit since we discovered the phenomenan..no one told me it cost THAT much! And my cheeky wife reckons that there is no point putting him on eBay as we will not get any money for him since he will look like me! Cow!:smiley3:

I like the sleeping, get drunk and spend cash part - that fits nicely with my plans!:smiley20:

What about names? My better half (as if!) is quite set on James Thomas - JT for short, but I am thinking more along the lines of "Hey you" or "iwe" - wouldn't they be more appropriate????:smiley36:
