I have two Dell optiplex GX520's the fancy ones with Screen and box all one a portable frame. One runs windows xp and the other Linux xubuntu... only problem i have with them as they have no space internally to add components like another hard drive or a dvd burner etc.. they have to be external which kinda defeats the purpose.

will never buy HP ever again
I bought one with a AMD Semperon chip in it and the Power supply was under spec required to power it. 250W PSU and the the Semperon chip requires min 300W according to the box (i bought my dad a standalone chip & heatsink to upgrade his PC soon after i bought mine.)

so when i added a DVD burner the burner wouldnt power up..I was ropeable! never mind that.. every time i put the chip under load the PC would reboot@@!@!
and the store told me the unit was a package deal and that all components were sold as is. rip off merchants!

I've only ever bought Dell and haven't had any problems yet. My latest laptop was built to my specific requirements, dealing directly with Dell and I couldn't ask for any more when it comes to service and support.
