I am a Manchester United fan.
If you are a fan of the English Premier League, then lets hear who you support.
I have issues with Chelski Football Club, since they have bought all the good players for stupid amounts of money it has not been fun to watch, the other teams are all fighting hard but at the end of the day it will always be for second place.

But can you really call it the English Premier league when there are hardly any british players?

So true, all the pomms are off to play for Real Madrid.
Things are changing, they have limits on the number of foreign players playing in one team.

Im a Liverpool fan
have been since Grobbelar was their goalie.... They have their up's and downs but generally they are probably the most consistance performers in the league -always in the top10 and usually fighting for a top 5 spot, and occasionally they pull off some major upsets
eg: champions league 04 -haha what a rort

When you live in a country that has a world class rugby team, the chances are you will support rugby, eg SA, New Zealand.
When i lived in Zim, the only world class players were Nick Price and Byron Black, it became harder tosupport and discuss these sports.
Now when you move to England there are a number of sports, eg Rugby, Footie or Cricket to support. Rugby will only appear on sports channels, but football appears on all. Hence the reason i follow footie more than rugby.
Lets not think that Rugby is a mens only sport, so many women are playing and watching rugby now, some just to see muscle men, but really have a look at the teamsthese days, its full of cauliflower eared, fat ugly guys with missing teeth and scares from bar fights.
.....I'm sure there are some ladies that might enjoy that, but no-one goes out with a girl like that, sothey no choice but to find guys like that.
Anyway enough of all this bad talk about what sport is the best, lets just enjoy watching all of them and appreciate them in their own way.
Thank you for reading this and go Man United.

Mourinho was named Coach of the Year after guiding Chelsea to last season's Premiership title.
Mourinho guided Chelsea to the Premiership title last season - the first time they finished top of the English top flight since 1955 - crowning a triumphant first season for him at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are currently leading the Premiership and have qualified for the knock-out phase of the Champions League - a competition from which they were eliminated at the semi-finals stage last season.
Mourinho was chosen ahead of contenders such as England cricket coach Duncan Fletcher, Liverpool football boss Rafael Benitez and Wales rugby chief Mike Ruddock.
"It is a great honour for me," said Mourinho after picking up his award.
"Of the other three contenders they also deserve it and I think the success of this last year belongs to my two families - the family I have at home and the family I have at Stamford Bridge."
WHAT A LOAD OF SHYTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If he had not won with the amount of money he was given to buy all the players, then he would have been crowned BIGGEST TWAT EVER.

League will finish with Chelsea champs and ManU and Liverpool taking 2nd & 3rd....
Arsenal will miss out on a champions league spot,
Henry will depart once that happens...
& something that would make my day is Spurs d1cking Arsenal in the
FA cup final.. Although a more likely final would be ManU v Arsenal
& Utd take revenge for the last time they met when god was on the
gooners side...
Liverpool may actually retain the champs league due to the fact all the

Cricket being the king of all sports has a place in any thread...
--------------
BECKHAM
He has always been a good footballer who shot to fame with the goal
from the halfway line. He came through the ManU ranks with a really
talented group of youngsters inc (giggs, scholes, butt & nevilles).
They then stormed the premiership with Becks on the right wing where
his crossing was deadly. His ability to cross the ball without having
to beat the left back made him one of the most dangerous wingers in the
world.
As his game matured he decided he prefererred the midfield role. In
this role I don't believe he the had skill to be libero or anything
else. After all he can not play any of the following roles.
1. Defensive midfielder - eg Makakale
2. Midfield enforcer - eg Keane, Viera etc
3. Creative midfielder - Zidane
4. Attacking midfielder - Lampard, scholes etc
If you take a player like Gerrard he can play all those roles.
Soon after Beckham wanting to play midfield Fergie sold him, with
hindsight this was a mistake because of Solksjaer getting injured and
leaving ManU without a quality right winger (although Giggs can play
both).
At Madrid Beckham has been given more of a free role to come into
midfield & sometimes playing alongside Zidane in midfield. The
result is Beckham is not providing the outlet to the right and more
importantly not providing those deadly crosses for the strikers to feed
off.
In my humble opinion you stick Beckham back on the wing and tell him to stay there and then Madrid will get the best out of him.
For Englands sake in the next WC lets hope Sven does that. Although
with the form of Lampard & Gerrard I can see only 1 spot for
Beckham.

Walcott integral to Burley plans (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/4561986.stm)
Arsenal are set to win the £15m race for Southampton teenager Theo Walcott, BBC Sport understands.
Saints chairman Rupert Lowe was at Arsenal's training ground on Thursday and it is believed that a deal for the 16-year-old striker was agreed.
The fee could rise to £15m, and might involve Walcott being loaned back to Southampton, or current Gunners players switching to the south coast.
Chelsea are still interested, but it is understood the player prefers Arsenal.
The Stamford Bridge club have even told Saints they will better any offer made by their London rivals for a player regarded as the best of his age in the country.
BBC Radio Five Live football correspondent Jonathan Legard said he understood discussions between Lowe and Gunners vice-chairman David Dein had gone very well.
"Southampton are pursuing a series of options, including a cash and Walcott loan back and a cash and players package," he added.
"The Arsenal and England Under-21 full-back Justin Hoyte - currently on loan at Sunderland - could be involved."
Walcott became the youngest player to represent Saints when he made his debut this season - aged just 16 years and 143 days - as a 73rd-minute substitute in August's curtain raiser against Wolves

Man Utd sign £56m AIG shirt deal
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41531000/jpg/_41531454_shirts_long203.jpg The club is currently sponsored by Vodafone
Manchester United have signed the UK's biggest shirt sponsorship deal.
The agreement with insurer American International Group (AIG) is worth £56.5m over four years, the club said.
United have had to find a new backer after current sponsor Vodafone decided to end its £9m-a-year agreement from the end of this season.
The deal is seen as key to United as they look to bolster their squad to help them challenge for domestic and European honours.
Off and on the pitch, United have undergone a slight wobble during the past couple of years.
Earlier this year, a survey said that Real Madrid had leapfrogged Manchester United to become the world's richest football club in terms of income.
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/shared/img/o.gifSPONSORSHIP DEALS
Tamoil - Juventus, £15m a year
BenQ - Real Madrid, £14m a year (from 2006)
T-Mobile - Bayern Munich, £11.4m a year
Samsung - Chelsea, £10m a year
On the pitch, Chelsea have dominated the domestic league and United have failed to make an impression in European competitions.
The club hopes that the shirt deal will go a long way towards helping to finance a recovery.
However, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the club's spending policy would remain the same.
"The financial foundation will benefit the club as a whole and we can look forward to years of progress through that," he said.
"But for me it's always going to be about how we can improve the team and nothing changes in that respect.
"I go to (chief executive) David Gill and say 'this is a player I'd like', then we assess how much it's going to cost and take it from there."
Verbal agreement
The new shirt deal has not been without controversy. Earlier this week United were accused of "double dealing" by online casino firm Mansion.
The company's chief negotiator claimed that Mansion and United had verbally agreed to a £70m shirt sponsorship deal before the football club pulled out.
The club countered that it never holds exclusive talks and it was perfectly entitled to hold discussions with other firms.
Previously, the UK's biggest shirt deal was Chelsea's current £50m five-year agreement with Samsung.
United's search for a new backer was sparked after Vodafone said in November that it would start sponsoring the Uefa Champions League, both as an official partner and the official mobile network of the competition.
The world's largest mobile phone company by revenue said it would continue to work with United, but that when the Champions League opportunity arose it was "too good to let go". The telecoms giant first started sponsoring United in 2000 but decided to take advantage of a get-out clause after the club was taken over by US sports magnate Malcolm Glazer.

THOSE 90th MINUTE GOALS REALLY HURT (luckily it was not Boro on the receiving end)

Middlesbrough 4-1 Basle (agg 4-3)
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41533000/jpg/_41533030_viduka203getty.jpg A brace from Mark Viduka gave Middlesbrough hope
Massimo Maccarone struck a 90th-minute winner as Middlesbrough produced an astonishing comeback to reach the Uefa Cup semi-finals.
Eduardo's 23rd-minute tap-in for Basle left Boro needing four goals to win.
But Mark Viduka pulled one back before half-time with a powerful run and shot and angled in a second before Daniel Majstorovic was sent off for Basle.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's stunning shot made it 3-3, leaving fellow substitute Maccarone to slide home the winner.
The unlikely comeback, which booked Middlesbrough a semi-final meeting with Steaua Bucharest, was reward for some brave changes by Steve McClaren.
The Boro boss threw caution to the wind at half-time by introducing Hasselbaink to play alongside Viduka and Yakubu, and then later brought on Maccarone as Basle stumbled.

Have your say on 606 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb606/F2241573?thread=2667896)
Indeed, his side might have considered themselves unlucky to have gone behind after a storming start to the game.
Inside a minute, Yakubu's challenge forced Basle keeper Pascal Zuberuehler to fumble the ball, but the striker hooked his shot narrowly wide.
That incident infused new belief into the home fans and on 14 minutes, they were appealing for a penalty.
Yakubu burst into the box and was clumsily brought down by Mile Sterjovski, with replays showing it deserved far more than the half-hearted appeal the Boro players mustered.
But a momentary lapse at the back cost the hosts dear.
Stuart Parnaby was not quick enough to prevent Boris Smiljanic heading across goal where Eduardo easily beat Gareth Southgate to the ball and smashed home.
With Boro now needing four goals to win, the Riverside Stadium fell silent, but the hosts stuck to their task.
Viduka gave them the lifeline their first-half display deserved when he shrugged off Majstorovic's challenge before wrong-footing Zuberuehler.
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/shared/img/o.gifMcClaren hails 'monumental' Boro (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/4875680.stm)
That brought the crowd back to life and they were almost celebrating again on 42 minutes when Yakubu turned Majstorovic brilliantly but shot too close to Zuberuehler.
McClaren sent his team out in barnstorming mood after the interval.
Basle's defence succumbed on 57 minutes when Yakubu slid the ball through for Viduka to sidestep Zuberuehler and shoot home from a difficult angle.
Boro's hopes were lifted again when Majstorovic, who had been Basle's dominant force in defence, was sent off for raising his hands.
His departure rocked Basle and they were reeling again when Hasselbaink collected the ball 25 yards out and, with hardly any backlift, powered in an unstoppable shot.
And as the minutes ticked down, Fabio Rochemback's shot was only parried by Zuberuehler and Maccarone squeezed home the rebound to send the disbelieving Boro fans into ecstacy.
If Boro can now get past Steaua, they will face Sevilla or Schalke in the final on 10 May in Eindhoven.

Arsenal have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of striker Thierry Henry.
The deal, thought to be worth about £16m to the Gunners, is subject to the Frenchman, 29, passing a medical.
Barca announced on their website that they expect Henry, who joined Arsenal from Juventus in 1999, to agree terms on a four-year deal within hours.
"I still must pass a medical on Monday but yes, I have chosen Barcelona," he told French sports daily L'Equipe.

Earlier, Barcelona revealed that they were close to bringing Henry to the Nou Camp, with vice-president Ferran Soriano telling Spanish sports newspaper Marca that talks were at an "advanced" stage.
Soriano added it was "the wish of all parties" for an agreement to be reached for the transfer of Henry.

This is solely my decision, no-one has forced me to do anything
Thierry Henry
He also insisted that Barcelona waited for the green light from Arsenal before making a move for the France international, who is the club's all-time record goalscorer.
"We don't want to point a gun at anybody," said Soriano. "We have good relationships with the European clubs."
Henry, who only agreed a lucrative new deal with Arsenal 12 months ago, also confirmed his exit in The Sun newspaper.
In an open letter, he blamed the shock departure of Gunners vice-chairman David Dein and continuing doubts over the future of manager Arsene Wenger as the main reasons for his decision to leave.
"Arsene has been part of my life for as long as I can remember," he wrote.
"Unfortunately and understandably, he has said that at this moment he will not commit to the club past the expiration of his current deal, which finishes at the end of the coming season.
"I respect his decision and his honesty but I will be 31 at the end of next season and I cannot take the chance to be there without Arsene Wenger and David Dein.

Do you think this is a good deal for Arsenal? (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A24073148)
"This is solely my decision, no-one has forced me to do anything and I will represent myself in this transaction. I feel it is something I just had to do."
Henry, who has also been linked with European champions AC Milan, has also revealed why he decided to move to the Nou Camp ahead of other possible destinations.
"Barcelona are a wonderful club steeped in tradition and play beautiful football. I'm sure I will be very happy there," he continued.
"But I will miss the Arsenal fans dearly, they have supported me through thick and thin.
"They will always be in my heart, as will all the fans who make the game here so special. I will always have a special bond with Arsenal Football Club."
Arsenal's 1971 League and FA Cup winning captain Frank McLintock was surprised Henry cited former vice-chairman Dein as a reason for leaving.
He said: "I can't see the relevance of David Dein's departure. I don't know how a player can get caught up with a director's departure and that making a difference to a player's performance.
"I'm sure he was a great ally to Arsene Wenger but I don't see how a player comes into contact with a director day after day.
"I've never heard such talk in my life before."
The Scot, however, was lavish in his praise of Henry's performances throughout his Arsenal career.
He added: "He's probably been the finest player Arsenal have ever had so you can't dismiss five or six great seasons that he gave us.
"I think the fans should leave with a warm feeling for Thierry Henry. He deserves it - he has been magnificent."
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42415000/jpg/_42415324_th_getty203.jpg Frenchman Henry has been linked to Barcelona for some time
Henry began his career as a winger with Monaco in 1994 - under the supervision of current Arsenal boss Wenger.
He was in France's 1998 World Cup-winning squad and went on to join Juventus the following season.
But his time in Turin was a largely unsuccessful one and the player was soon heading to north London, with Wenger keen to get the best out of the prodigious talent.
The France international has since blossomed into one of the greatest talents in world football.
He helped Arsenal to two league titles and three FA Cups and led the Gunners to the finals of the 2000 Uefa Cup and 2006 Champions League.
In February 2006, he became the first Arsenal player to score over 200 goals for the club, with a strike against Birmingham, and has bagged a club record 226 goals in 364 appearances for the Gunners. His consistency in front of goal ensured he finished as the Premier League's top scorer on four occasions. He has won the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year title on two occasions and the football writers' player of the year three times. He has also twice finished runner-up in the Fifa world player of the year.

Why am I not surprised Ferrarisucks is a Man Utd supporter. Not only I am a Ferrari fan but I am also a Liverpool supporter.
I have to say I have found Man Utd performances recently a little easier to stomach cos they actually develop talent rather than simply buy talent like Chelsea and Arsenal.

Notice Portsmouth in the top 10 - brilliant. Must be because they have a Zimbabwe player who's very good. His surname is so long they can't fit it on his shirt so they use his first name..... can't remember what his name is tho.

Liverpool overwhelmed Marseille to win a third successive Champions League Group A game and reach the last 16.
Steven Gerrard won a penalty on four minutes and although his spot-kick was saved by Steve Mandanda, the Liverpool captain crashed home the rebound. Fernando Torres then scored a superb solo goal, beating a posse of Marseille players before curling the ball in. Early in the second half Dirk Kuyt swept home a third and in stoppage time Ryan Babel broke clear for the fourth.

Its Benjani? Is that his surname or first name?
Actually both are wrong :smiley9: :smiley36: :smiley9:
Benjamin 'Benjani' Mwaruwari
(Born 13 August (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_13) 1978 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978) in Harare (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harare), Zimbabwe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwe)), is a footballer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_%28soccer%29) currently playing for Portsmouth F.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_F.C.) in the Premier League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League) as a striker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Striker). He was born to parents of Malawian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malawi) descent and has chosen to represent Zimbabwe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwe) at professional level, the country where he was born and raised. In the Ngonde language, his name should read Mwaluwali but because the Shona language (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shona_language) uses 'R' in place of 'L', since 'L' is not part of Shona alphabet, his name now reads Mwaruwari. In Zimbabwe they call him the undertaker for his ability to 'bury' teams. Benjani would score frequently in his playing days in Zimbabwe and ultimately put more goals past teams, hence he was 'burying' them.
