Ok boys who here has had the super 6 done on them... and what for?
My one and only was in junior school,Bryden, chants you might remember this?
Bunch of boys were wondering how the fire extinguisher worked in the dorms...
i showed them how... but then didnt know how to turn it off....
i was dragged through the coals for that, got six stripes ( i think i was the only kid at bryden to ever get 6... haha )
i then had to pay for the extinuisher as well, a bit offsides but hey..

Not me. The most i was beaten was 4. Cant quite remember what is was for but it was bloody painful.
I dont think there was one week in Form 3, 4 and lower 6 that i wasnt beaten.

Well I am very proud to say that I got six of the best from Elliot for failing a Metalwork test. He said if I wanted to be with the boys I had to be punished like one too! Personally I think he was justa sadist! After the first two I suggested it was enough and he said fine I could have special report instead. I took the other four! Before each onehe did his little chant "Just a flick of the wrist.....spare the rod and spoil the child" I have to admit that he probably was more brutal with the boys but it it still hurt like shit!

A few questions.
A- Why were you doing metalwork?
B- Was it normal for Shed teachers to beat girls?
C-Did you enjoy it?

shayne youre sick - but i guess anyone can see that just by checking out your avatars.... haha i love the stormtrooper man..
yeah all Students had to do art, woodwork and metalwork untill form 3 then we had a choice between art, TD, woodwork or metalwork..
Handscome (metalwork form 1 & 2)was weird, Elliott ( metalwork form 3 & up)was a Sadist, Bande(woodwork)was in awe of those two so he just did what they did.
thats part of the reason why i chose TD after form 2, Elliott scared me shitless.

I only got beaten once at Vale, by Mr (Ratty) Ratcliffe. it was 4 stripes for missing Manual Labour.
My main problem with that was Mrs Fourie said she would talk to Ratty about moving my manual labour to the following week because she had organised for a coach to come in for a weeks lesson. Nice idea, pitty she forgot to act out her thoughts, dozy cow.

My three most memorable beatings...
I got 6 from Jack Smith (yorkshireman Geo teacher & w/polo coach) in form 3...good man, funny teacher but when it came to beats he was SHYTE at it! I think only two actually landed on my butt...the rest on my legs/ back...
Then 4 from old man Kolbe ..old big nose...(LEGEND Headmaster!)... OH MY GODFATHERS that balie could beat! i couldnt sit for 2 days (might have something to do with him 'chatting' to my mum & 'mentioning' that he'd beaten me...which she told my dad & he gave me a few more to 'remind me'...
Then 4 from Sam Chikanda with a cricket stump...for swearing when i got hit in the bollocks without a box...IN A MATCH, in front of EVERYONE!...he strode across from square leg, ripped the offstump out of the ground, held me down by the back of my neck & proceeded to thrash me...now THAT hurt!

Actually Biffon the girls did not get a choice between Metalwork, Woodwork etc etc. They were just sent to Fashion and Fabrics. However the F&F teacher, Mrs Mozi, was neither wierd nor a sadist. She wassimply the Devil incarnate and she KNEW what she was doing! It was pure Darwinism that sent me off to Metalwork. It was drill or die!

Biffon, yes they did change the rules. Ours was the first year to have girls do Woodwork and Metalwork!I think by the end of Form two there were 5 of us.Myself, Anne-Marie, Karla, Renita (Who bizzarely did not make your hot babes list). I can't remember who else!

i think it was more the other way round.... boys in the same class as you guys were never even loooked at - it was always guys like spaniel and edmunson etc that were the centre of your attention.
form 1 girls always dated form 4 boys and form 4 girls always dated guys out of school ... that was just the accepted norm...
of course there were exceptions.

Marx beat the entire cricket team at Bothashoff because someone left a glove in the nets and no one stood up!! Then we had this crazy PE teacher who used to run behind us during cross country with a fucking stick! Imagine that shit going down in the states, UK, Aus etc!!!
My most memorable beating was by Bousefield- I was a hostel pre as well as school fed and all the rest. Got over drunkard at Sandros on a Friday night and failed to make inter- schools gala on Saturday. Even had a bullshit Doc letter to excuse me on Monday but he didn't buy it and gave me 6. Threatened to de- pre me but never materialised?
After that I had another experience which I think is worth the mention. Gave one of these arrogant 3rd formers a manual. He argued so gave him double and the next thing is he's threatening to tell the house master that I smoke in my room. So I grab this little shit by the scruff of his neck and drag him down to the house master- tell him the story (little shit trying to blackmail me over a manual)and the 3rd former gets 6 for trying to knife a fed!! Sweet!!

What a great Thread!
I was at Watershed for 3 years and it's so nice to hear names like Mr Elliot and the rest. Can anyone remember the teacher who lost his dipstick from his car chassis? He spent ages running about shouting (in a funny accent) "Who stole my dipstick from my chassis!?". Hell of a funny at the time.
I got beaten quite a bit at Shed although I never got 6 of the best... came close and in fact I was meant to get 6 from Mr Armstrong (Remember him!!) but because it was for cavorting with a young lass (can't say who) on the rocks by the basket ball courts he forgave me... of simply forgot... and ended up giving me only 3.
I recall a day when I get beaten 3 times. 1st, 4 stripes for not doing homework, 2nd, 3 stripes for laughing too much with Andrew VanZyle in Prep and lastly I got another 3 for messing about in line for dinner. It was a long and painful day.
Mr Armstrong was the king of beating. He had 2 or 3 fishing rods, which he removed the eyes from and wrapped insulating tape round. My favourite was Delilah, nice and whippy. It would leave good stripes on your ass and the end of the rod would wrap around your cheeks and from time to time draw blood on the side of your butt and hip.
What excellent days!

I must admit I don't remember giving you a thick ear but then again there's a lot I don't remember from those days.I do remember you captaining the first rugby team I ever played for.
Yep I did get to know Mr Armstrong’s flat quite well, mostly the stairwell. I think I held a record for the most amount of beatings received in form 1. Not my proudest achievement admittedly.

Only ever got 4 for talking in assembly. Great brute of a man called Mr Lambourne. Used to throw the hammer for Zimbabwe. F#*k me my arse was sore for weeks! He was a sadistic mofo... used to chat to you inbetween blows so that the pain/numbness had subsided before he wacked you again! Then to top it off you had to walk out of senior comms and all the pre's and seniors made a tunnel and shouted at you to whistle as you walked through. Have you ever tried to whistle while your arse is on fire? Man it was humiliating, but I suppose that was the purpose hey. funny looking back now. Hah ha

ok - we had two teachers that were really bad..
Armstrong - (appropriate name!) he was the worst - had two sticks
named Samson and Delilah made from old fishing rods with the eyes taken off.. samson had a little nobbie on the end that would sometimes whip round and whack you on the willy! dammit that was painful!!!!
the worst part of the experience was that he lived in a flat above the hostel and we had to climb these steep little concrete stairs and wait there till he was ready for you.. usually a long line of us at the same time... was terrifying experience. He also had an uncanny knack of getting all his stripes on top of each other so it looked like you only got whacked once..
the other guy was the Chinyika housemaster (i forget his name right now sorry) but he used to go into these rages and go rip off a branch from any number of mulberry trees around the hostels and use that to beat the shit out of anyone... that dood scared me.. i remember once two guys were fighting outside the dinner hall and he saw - beat them six in front of the whole school!! damn it looked painful!!!

Kolbe used to have a cupboard of at least ten canes. He'd open it and make you choose one to get beaten with... :( It was like shopping.
I remember thinking "hmm the last beating, that little skinny bitch of a cane hurt so lets go with the fattest one this time". God only knows which one hurt more out of the bunch.
And to answer Cez's question. Sometimes I would run to the bathroom and put water on my lashes if they werent bleeding. Never dipped my bum in the basin though. St Johns scholars were too cool for that.

The Chinyika housemaster was Whittacker.
He had attitude... big time! I remember once when I was in Form 1, I was in the tuck shop queue and wouldn't leave until I had got some tuck, so was late for cricket. When I finally arrived, he told me that I would be going to see Brown the following day. So, that night, quite by chance I was up for a beating with Mr Armstrong, the follow morning, name got called out by Mr Brown in assembly, and it was off to his office for 4 stripes (bizzare, I know, it was usually 3 or 6). That night, not one to learn my lesson, when we were all in the happ doing prep, I got caught talking... and the housemaster on duty just happened to be Whittacker. So it was off to Chinyika after prep. He broke the cane on me on the first stripe, and I had to wait until he had sent someone to borrow one from the gombora housemaster for the other two. What fun........

I know at Christian College in Gweru if the kids misbehaved they get 'detention duties' which include digging the headmasters garden, planting trees in the school grounds or weeding and picking up the litter around the school.... plus the headmaster is known to cane the boys but not the girls....

Iggy, I would be there with you. My son was so badly caned at SJC in Form 1, for dropping out of the bridge club, that the marks were still on his backside 2 weeks later. We were at our GP for a sore throat or something like that and I insisted he look at his backside. He was so horrified that he said if it happened again, we should report it to the police and he immediately wrote a letter to Eylsee (?!) threatening him with such !!!!!!!!!!!!! What a bunch of bullies ! The number of similar cases that came to light after this incident was appalling ! :smiley18:

We had a teacher at Riverside Junior School who was fired because he kept assaulting the pupils. His favourite trick was throwing the black board duster at pupils. He threw it so hard at one pupil it damaged his eye (now blind in one eye) and he was off school for that term.
Looking back his parents should have sued the teacher and school. The teacher should have been reported to the Police for shua.

The day we started our end of year exams, I took the back slat off my bench desk, made a ball out of sellotape, and then stood on my desk, chucked the ball at one of my mates and received it back in the air .... I klupped it hard and jumped up shouting "6 RUNS", just then the headmaster walked in to quieten us and the sellotape ball was flying through the air and landed on his head ... "Horton, my office now!!!"
I waited at his office and he got there telling me how dissappointed he was in me, I was on the Junior City Council and I should be setting an example for my fellow students. I was then lashed 6, and sent back to the exam room. When I got back we found out why our teacher wasn't there ... he had committed suicide. When I got home, my Mom asked me if anything interesting happened at school, I told her about the teacher, she asked me if anything else happened, I said nothing else really interesting. She then told me that the headmaster had rung her and told her what I had done. I thought I was in for it again, then she burst out laughing .... I got another 4 a few days later, but that's a different story!

At shed we had a few Sadistic teachers. Worst was Probably Glen Armstrong (who would be able to beat the entire boys section on their own :smiley3: ) but the odd thing was that he was the most popular teacher because he cared about the kids and interacted with them a lot.
Whittaker was just plain mean, he didnt cane that often but when he did he'd lose his temper and that was bad news!!

The worst that ever happened to me was in Std 8 when I and a few others had to bend down in the Head masters's office for 4 of the best each (for smoking, of course). I went first, believing to get it done and over with.
I was so blimming scared i remember sort of shivering when i bent down. The first two cuts was hell, but then i was so scared that between the 2nd and 3rd cuts i let off one helluva fart.:smiley36: :smiley9:
Everybody exept the sourpuss Head Master laughed. So we al got an extra one, me for disrespect for "my low opinion of discipline", the others for thinking that farting when being caned is funny.
Through it all the Haed Master only grunted: "Jou klein bliksem!" (You little shit!) and went on caning.:smiley6:
