I have to say that I love christmas, well except for the last few, they were boring, but there will be 5 children in my house this year, so I'm hoping they'll be super excited, and bring the festive feel back!
Oh yeah, and the food!! mmmmm ham, and christmas pudding, yum! I'm made mine already. And I've made the christmas cake. I wont feed it chivas this year though, I couldn't tell the difference last time.

Penny my Dad would have a heart attack AGAIN if you even suggested feeding your cake chivas. I dont think he has quite recovered from that. LOL

LOL - yes I think my dad would too!!!
I am hoping Christmas will be festive this year. I had such a hangover on Christmas Day last year thanks to my lovely next door neighbours - eish but I suffered! I will have to go easy this year so that at least I am not incapbable - although I did cook a very passable lunch and drank copious quantities of mulled wine with a stinking hangover!!!!! :smiley36:

So 13 days till Christmas. Has everyone done their xmas shopping? Is everyone sorted? I have found this year most people have said... dont buy me anything and wont buy for you so thats cool, the only ones I have to get for is Mom and Dad, who I have allready got for and my god daughter and her brother. A few friends kids...and whahhhh lahhhhh Im done. So not in a panic at all this year.

I'm doing pretty well, I have for all the children, the in laws and my uncle and his fiance, so only 3 or 4 more to go and I'll be done. I know what I'm going to get for most of those left, so that makes things easier for sure.
Going to the shops last week was a nightmare though, and I'm definitely not looking forward to doing food shopping over the next couple of weeks. You fill up the trolley and wait in line for what feels like days and days.

Getting pressies is never a problem. Himself doesn't buy for me, I don't buy for him. I would truly love to buy for my kids/grandson in UK, but not enough cash.
Food...well, I have the turkey etc for the day. Can't, for the life of me so far, find a Christmas pudding. Fruitcakes are made though...and well soused, without Chivas, I might add!! Bols brandy, only! Sorry, Jiggs!!
Will make the mince pie (with rum, of course!!!) next week.
Have likely forgotten tons of things, but sh*t happens!

Hey Gertrude...about wasting that Bols...!!!!!!!!
I've yet to find an affordable brandy over here that tastes anywhere as good as the Zim/S.african ones.
Just pop an assortment into a case and send them over to me for Xmas...please?!!!!!:whistling::whistling::whistlin g:

Our road has just 8 houses on it, 4 of them non Greek. The "foreigners" will make it up to our place for drinks and snacks and then we all get on with hosting our respective lunches. Pissed before lunch again. Presents more or less sorted on my trip to UK previous week. When you can fly Athens/UK return for $150 it's sensible to pop over for shopping as Greece is so expensive in comparison ! Bugger my carbon footprint.

It's funny how you think of the way you do christmas as being the way christmas is done. For instance, we put up the tree on christmas eve, and then put presents under after the babies have gone to bed, open them in the morning, and then have a cold christmas lunch. But Joe's lot do it aallll differently! They have santa sacks, and christmas breakfast for a start. I think we've convinced the littlies that santa knows they're with me for christmas, so he's going to bring their presents to my house instead. It was a bit harder to explain why he wouldn't put them in their santa sack, I think in the end we decided the reason was because he does things differently in Australia :)

I am organised thankfully. I have one more present to get but the rest are wrapped and under the tree. Most the food has been purchased - again just a few more things to get and voila! Sorted!

1: The booze bra:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1295288/The-booze-bra-hold-bottle-wine--just-dont-wear-white-shirt.html
It's certainly one way to boost your cup size - but a new bra that can hold a whole bottle of wine is unlikely to find much favour with bar and pub owners.
The 'Wine Rack', which holds 750ml of drink and comes complete with a straw attached to the watertight tubing inside the cups, can inflate a girl's chest by up to two sizes. The bra, which is produced by New Jersey retailer BaronBob.com, has proved popular with students during the U.S. state's recent heatwave. 'They are leak proof and are totally water tight or booze tight as the case may be,' said store owner Paul Krasulja, 38. 'The drinking tube has a stop start button which is siphoned off from the tubing around the bra. 'Fully filled, the bra is imperceptibly increased by two sizes.
But the bra should not be considered lingerie, he added. 'It is for partying and drinking.

it will be such a culture shock for all of them. Does that mean Sav will start high school in the UK? Going to school is a great way to make friends, so that will be good for the kids.
