Well... I guess the smut issue has been solved and that lady members can open threads without being violated.

However, we did have a couple of ladies visit but it was very short lived. Probably my fault because as soon as they logged on it was chaos ("stand up & fight ladies")... all in good humour girls! But I think I speak for us all in saying that a ladies touch certainly wouldn't do us or the forums any harm... so please do contribute- it'd be a nice change to talk about more sensitive issues and besides,Hammond really looks forward to expressing his feminine side from time to timeas well.

I think we should open up a Zimbo.bounceme club... open an account and offer a small donation on either aquarterly, half yearly or an annual basis to the old folk (pensioners) in Zimbabwe?

How many members are there currently... if we all donated something, I'm sure this would add up to a decent contribution. Who has a struggling grandparent in Zim? We could select one of our members grandparents for a particular quarter or even for the year and help them out? Something for nothing??

None of the ladies on here would get offended, trust me. With Christmas coming up i dont think many people will be logging on as a lot of people are going away. Probably why a few of them havent been back.

I like the sound of this idea. Its always a good thing to give back to the community not matter how small the figure. There is a major membership drive next year and once the figures are higher we will defintely put this idea forward.

Ever here about the story in the late '90's when Canada donated masses of cash, food etcto help a drought strickenvillage in upper Africa (name escapes me) which saved countless lives.
A few years later Canada had a major snow storm and communities were stuck indoors for days as they snowed in and couldnt get freash water or food. That same village that was saved got together and sold all their spare goats, cattle and maizeto raise relief money for the Canadians. The total donation? US$38. The money was received gratefully by the Canadian embassy.

Quite touching really. Edited by: Shayne

Thats the most touching thing i have read in a while, to sell pretty much every thing you own to help those who helped you, only if we had more of that in this world. But US$38 man that is toughsmileys/smiley5.gifsmileys/smiley5.gif

My Gran is finding it real hard to live there. She used to own this flash as house in Alexander Park but had to sell and now she is living in a caravan. With the interest rate dropping to single digits her money is slowly diminishing. What the fuck. I feel for the old people stuck in Zim. smileys/smiley13.gifSo next year my mother and I are going to try get her here into NZ.smileys/smiley1.gif

Just waiting for my mother to get her NZ Citizenship..

Yeah, its fucking tatty and the its the old folk that are being hit the hardest... their pensions are wothless!

There are a group of people who run a charity for pensioners in Zim... they're based in Botswana and they're fairly well know. It's very easy to make donations to their account- I think they have a magazine that lists all donors... it would be something to see Zimbo.bounceme in the mag or mentioned for what good little souls we are! Well- let's put our heads together in the NY and come up with something that's fair for all.
