Well boys & girls, things are looking up- myself & some business partners have won a 4 wk coaching contract with the Springboks to do their speed agility conditioning...if it goes well, it becomes a long term contract leading up to the RWC & HOPEFULLY a contract with SARU & the provincial unions...been working with the guys for a week now & what a bunch of characters! Some really awesome guys...but strangely enough, not THAT big up close & personal... see if you can work out who's who in this pic...

Ok, left to right-
Schalk Burger (LAZY ASS!) Eddie Andrews behind Hanyani Shimange on the first ladder, Dewet Barry on the second ladder in white shirt with Wayne Julies behind him, Jacques Cronje without a shirt on 3rd ladder with Victor Matfield & Fourie Du Preez behind him (the Bulls okes hang out together ALL the time!) & on the 4th ladder you can just see Bryan Habana's legs... Jean De Villiers behind him (the legs & torso) & CJ Van Der Linde (the 130kg oke in white shirt- he ran an 80m sprint test in 10.1secs! OMW!!!) The resyt of the guys are behind me, behind the camera, having gone through the ladders...
The oke in the red shirt is my business partner Waldo Van Heerden, a biokineticist...he ONLY praats afrikaans to me...ek? Ek kan nie praat maar ek verstaan n' bikkie!

great stuff again - Tigs how do you rate their chances going into the European tour dude? think they have stepped up a level since playing France last?
TiGeR

Thanks m8- i think we will have the measure of the poms at set piece, but France will be tight- at home in Paris & with the standard & form of their club rugby at the moment, the french test i think will come down to who can keep their bottle (composure) & not give away penalties (any of Michalak/Elisalde/Yachvilli for France & Pretorius for SA are kicking well so the score could go quite high) I think Bok lineout is the best in the world at the moment, but in the Europen autumn, strange things can happen...our scrum will hold its own on the heavier fields, but our rush defence might come unstuck- although if England play their plodders in midfield we'll get away with it there, but the french will eat us alive...
My MAJOR concerns are two fold-one is that the Boks arent aerobically fit enough & thats where we might get caught short both at yrs end & in the World cup...the other is that we havent got a combative & competitive enough openside flanker to compete with any combination of Mssrs Betsen, Chabal, Martin, Magne, Harinordoquy or Dusautoir...Richie McCaw & George Smith KILLED us in the Tri Nations & so did the French loosies in the Southern Hem. autumn games (pre- Tri nations) so... i think we'll beat England at least once, but the France test will be close either way...(then again France play bthe ABs twice in the autumn so THAT may be a factor too...)

Hey Mun
Well done mate. Hey do your best, you'll be fine. And if not your CV can only get better and lead to better things if it does'n't pan out. Good luck and once again congrats
P.s Is Shchalk not an option for the loose flanker, he's about as good a scrummager as SA have?

agreed - id rate him on a par with Waugh maybe a bit to go to match mcCaw & George Smith(on a good day) though

Hey Old Smithy's lost his fire at the moment. Whats that all about. Not even making the team mostly either. As for McCaw he really is the best at the moment. He looks small but he weighs in at 105 kegs and 189cm!!!!! Shalk Burger 110kegs 193cm!!!!

Thanks bro- 'Sculler' is only due to start playing again in Feb 07 so for Nov tour we are looking at either Pierre Spies or Solly Tyibilika...Schalke is our best openside & the next best guy is a fellow called Luke Watson (WP & Stormers) but Jake doesnt dig him so he's been left in the cold...
I think the Aussie selectors need to go with horses for courses- Smith is the best all round 7 they have, Waugh is an Waratahs coster! ;-) Seriously though, in my opinion, Waugh is not a great 80 min player but has suprised / impressed me with his ability to make an immediate impact when brought on with 15-20 on the clock...i would have to say my pick for the Aussie back row at the moment would be Chisholm 6, Smith 7 & Scott Fava at 8 (muscle, athleticism, power, lineout options aplenty) I would also like to see how David Lyons performs now that he is back (i still think he should be turned into a loosehead prop!) & leave out Rocky Elsom altogether- while he does bring some mongrel & 'dogf*%k' to the aussie pack, he cost them BIGTIME in the tri nations & in a knockout compo like the worl cup, you need wise heads not jackasses!
Another pic for you guys...

Listen- i've got myself where the boys trust me...i think takin pics of 'em 'NEKID' will not do my working relationship nor budding friendships with them any good...
but here's a deal for ya- i'll propose that a couple of the guys (Percy, Bryan Habana, Jean De Villiers, Brent Russell probably the best) do topless pix for the gals if the ladies post topless pix of themselves FIRST for the boys on TCB... :smiley2: ...oh hey Sal, i seem to recall a whole post dedicated to YOU 'takin it all off' for the fellas :whistling: ...ha ha ha NOT BLOODY LIKELY i hear you say!
Bianca

That's okay - there are already a few pics of them topless on here! So no need for us to be doing the whole topless thing huh! ;)

Am a bit frustrated- the side they've taken over is mainly guys that only started working with me after the Currie cup final, so they are not all that well conditioned (IMHO)...anyway, the boys left thos evening so i'm holdin thumbs for a good tour...start again with the guys in Jan pre Super 14 camp & then the build up to RWC...

you make it sound like its a "surprise " package going to be rolled out for the RWC
TiGeR
11-09-2006, 05:20 AM
Well...wouldnt call it a surprise exactly...we have (finally!) cottoned on to the fact that the ABs have nearly 3 teams that can beat ANYBODY (including us!) & that we have the no.s in our game to create similar depth...unfortunately, we cottoned on to this fact too late & the way we are going about it is not without its problems...least of all leaving out some really great players because they are not 'big' enough!
Speaking of big, check the size of this boy out! hes 23 & plays 12 for the boks! i first met him in 2001 as a schoolboy @ st john's festival & then later @ craven wk...was player of the tournament @ craven wk that yr...shame he broke his hand a wk before the guys left for UK, hence Habana going to play centre...
