Anyone a NRL fan here? I support the Warriors (i can you laughing punk) but was uber impressed with the West Tigers win. A team of nobodies winning it was great. Even better was the historic league win over the Aussies 24-0 or whatever it was.

France coach Bernard Laporte has directly told his New Zealand counterparts that the Kapa o Pango haka with its controversial throat-slitting gesture will not be welcome in France in November.
"] ("http://adserver.adtech.de/adlink|3.0|567|1065790|0|105|ADTECH;loc=300;grp=[group) http://www.rugby365.com/mediastore/graphics/syndications/rugby365a/spacer.gifNew Zealand play a two-Test series against the French in November, two Tests widely anticipated to be dress rehearsals for next year's Rugby World Cup final.
But Laporte is concerned that a national and world-wide audience unfamiliar with Maori protocol will not interpret the haka correctly.
"It's no good for the promotion of our sport," said Laporte.
"You cannot justify doing whatever you want."
After similar complaints from Wallaby coach John Connolly two weeks ago NZRU bosses said Australians needed to educate themselves about the haka, and the All Blacks representatives weren't backing down on Sunday.

the ABs are coming under fire from all sides at the moment on kapa o pango...guess jealousy makes ppl nasty...i see no problem with it...rugby is a contact sport & if ppl can talk about destroying you & other trash talk in WWF/ E or whatever its called now, why cant the ABs pretend to slit throats or draw in vital energy or whatever...its ALL sports entertainment!

I disagree. Its graphic and not exactly what you want little kids to see. Sports role models have huge impact on kids lives.

im on tigers side for this one. Its not like they have knives in their hands and there are far worse gestures and acts out there in the sports world even in soccer for example when a player scores a goal - you have them snorting the grass as if its cocaine or humping the corner post etc... and then there is WWE etc which is bordering on pornogrphic these days but still only considered a PG show!!#$%$%^&
yeah whats with that anyway?? ridiculous
besides look at the fijian "cibi"? - they pretent to be stabbing the enemy but noone complains about that?

What did everyone think of the Ryder Cup? I'm pissed that America got creamed to be honest. I was hoping for an upset.
there was some good golf - it looked interesting at one point.

does anyone else actually understand league??
Shayne
06-14-2007, 11:01 AM
Whats so hard to understand about it? Less rules than most sports.
barto11
06-14-2007, 11:06 AM
are there any rules...apart from the fact you can do whatever you like??
biffon
06-14-2007, 12:23 PM
fuck you guys obviously don't get much exposure to AFL do you?
they say the only rule in AFL is you cant push the player from behind!
League is sometimes very boring to watch but OK if they are creative with the ball... usually its just crash & bash though and thats why i hate it... too much like grid iron, just glorified gaining grounds.
on that note GO Maroons!!!!
