Jones signs three-year deal

FORMER Australia rugby union coach Eddie Jones has signed a three-year contract to coach Queensland from next season.

"This is a real coup for Queensland rugby," QRU chief executive Theo Psaros said.


Jones was axed from the national squad last month after the Wallabies had won only one win of their past nine matches.


He was selected from a field of 12 applicants for the Queensland coaching job.

I can see the reds picking up the pace and getting back up there in the super14 once Eddie takes over, he's a really good coach just the situation with the Wallabys poor run has put a bad name on him.... but the Reds will be glad with their choice.

i personally have never liked eddie jones - he just seems very "hardegat" as they say in afriks


hardarsed - never open to ideas, thats why he had such a turn over of coaching staff.


however he is definitely motivated and has unique vision, i can see the reds going up or down, definitely wont stay stagnant thats for sure!

I believe Eddy is a super coach. He failed on Aus not because of his tatics but because he had a shit run on players with injury etc. R
