Using Google Earth, I found Vale and tried to name all the areas. Feel free to add to it.

The tracks are just north of the picture, on the other side of the small road you can see.

Copy that- guess it just seemed closer in my minds eye...i should know better seeing as i used to coach St John's rugby & cricket up to 2004 & Vale was one of our annual fixtures...cricket was always competitive, but the last 10-15yrs St John's has been winning the rugger quite comfortably.

AOTHER Willowvale scandal! ...imagine that!? now no independent press to cover the story, no impartial judiciary to charge the guilty parties & a shyte govt that STILL wouldnt care & probably be involved in the thefts anyway ...

if it wasnt so tragic it would actually be hilarious

Vale's moved to where Westgate is - right? That screen shot is fairly old. It sure does bring back memories though. How dry and brown does it all look. Esp. for us people that live in NZ.... They stuff we used to get up to those days, crazy!

They havent moved yet...too expensive & in the current situation, schools are trying to stay OPEN, nevermind move location...

The school hasn't changed too much. They've put up concrete tables and chairs where we used to hang out at break. I was last there in 2004 when my son went to school there for two terms. That was during the time when the school fees were being cut by the government and the Vale was in the papers AGAIN for racial discrimination. The ministry of Education said the school was too white and a minister visited the school and saw that it was in fact 80% black as stated, but still he had to ask the then head (Mrs Laing) where they were hiding all the white kids.

Ha ha. That brings back memories of playing cricket against the Marilliers/?Mutambanadzo brothers and the good old diesel trains chugging in the background making you feel like you really were in the sticks.

I must tell you guys, I went to Lilfordia today to take my son back to school. It was like a high school reunion. Vale people have been busy making babies since they left school. Karen Morgan and Yvette Oosthuizen work there.

At least the vale fields were quite level.. There weren't any little gomos.. hahaha

biffon
05-10-2006, 02:00 AM
it wasnt the gomos that were the problem it was the ant holes that would swallow a hockey ball that were our biggest gripe!

One problem with Vale was its size. Its was a bitch to get around when you had to do cross country

RustyBear
05-14-2006, 06:58 PM
I have to agree with you there ryan it was a hell of a bitch with that crappy little water jump

FerrariSucks
05-14-2006, 10:10 PM
especially when those CNUTS put rocks in the dirty water to hurt people, if you had enough strength it was better to jump over it

RustyBear
05-15-2006, 06:49 PM
Or just run around it

Sad to let you guys know that Yvette Oosthuizen has recently past away. She was a diabetic and was pregnant and had some complications.
