Ok there werent many places we could hang on a friday/wednesday/saturday etc...


I also know most of us went to most places but we also had preferences of one or more.


tell me if i missed any?

Bowling alley - for the coke & crunchy lovers





my Haunts were : Archies from 1994-1996, X-cape 1995-1998


bulldogs 1996 -2000 La vanhu 1999-2000 goodfellows 1999-2000 origins 2001


Sports was visited quite often as was the Keg (i even worked at the keg for a year) but i never got into the "rhodie"atmosphere there.

I got drunk there for the first time!! ahh the memories!! I loved the pond they had there!! I remember going in with $50 drinking loads and coming home with change! cant do that anymore! unless its a US$!!

Archies was pretty cool but was really young at the time. Jeez we were encouraged to booze at an early age. We wer'nt policed at all not like OZ where I am now. Man you can't do anything here it is so beuracratic!

Anyone remember the New Year parties at Nyanga Troutbeck/Vic Falls with Simon Parkinson. HA ha!
What about St Gerard's! My word those were strange days!
Hanging for drinks depended mostly on cash flow

1. Most expensive drinks -Escape! and those god-darn drinks tickets pads!
2. Most convenient drinking rendevous -Keg and Maiden/Bulldogs
3. Cheapest Drinks-OG's club

Hey Kadoma was a cool place! They had that rugby tournament and if I had ever been sober I'd remember what the bloody thing was called!

Let's see if we can name the best drinking spot in every town we can think of between us! Copy, paste, EDIT and add on - try keep the list together!

Chegutu - the Chegutu Arms Motel
Kariba - That guy who ran the bar from his garden. Sometimes the cops showed up and you had to pretend you were his mates round for a party coz he never had a license! Anyone remember what it was called? and OF COURSE, Round Bar!
Harare - Bizzarre Bar, KCC,
Nyanga - was never sober enough to venture further than the campsite - now THERE'S a drinking spot!
Kadoma - Moth Hill.
Eiffel Flats - drive-in bar!

Kariba - Charara the Long bar (hey that has to have a mention - it was the longest bar in the world at one point)

The Zvipadzi bottle store was called Makuti! When Carl and the gang got expelled I was teling my dad the story. With my 2 best friends being involved in the whole thing I was waiting for the 'you should have helped them to be more responsible lecture' but he just looked at me, and with a dead straight face, said "Couldn't they find a bottle store before they got to Makuti?"
