i would say a croc is worse as you suffer more

I am in Australia where there is a report nearly weekly about some attack.
A report this week said in the last 5 years a few thousand tourists have died whilst on holiday here,although lots are from traffic accidents and other things.
I bet you guys in the UK aren't too keen on swimming down under now !

i would still go swimming in the sea, as long as you are careful and dont be stupid, ie swimming pat the nets etc, you are fine. Its not going to stop me from diving!!

The nets are just a deterrent. Sharks get around them at Bondi all the time!
Being stupid has nothing to do with it.

we don't even have nets here, but all this hype about sharks isn't gonna stop me doing anything in the sea, bee stings kill more people than sharks.

Having said that,I don't surf but I don't reckon the surfers help themselves by imitating their prey, so no symapthy from me, and if you wanna go spearfishing and have a fish on your spear/belt spewing blood around you and you get nailed, well, its your fault. End of the day we are swimming on their dinner plate, their turf, not ours.
I'm off to the beach..;)
