Describe what your typical Zim weekend was - whether you choose your weekend as a kid/teenager/adult etc its up to you...
I have decided to describe a typical weekend for me from my works days!!!
~Starting Friday lunch it was "Beer Engine" in Park Street (worked two doors down)
~Back to work at about 3
~Sat around discussing the weekend ahead (no work was ever done on a Fri afternoon)
~Home for a quick bath and change
~Europa Cafe for Grappa's
~ Arkies
~Home at 5 to snooze for a couple of hours
~Up at 7 - off to friends farm in Norton
~Back to Arkies that evening leaving at about 5 again
~Back to Farm straight from Arkies skipping the whole sleep bit
~Home by 7:30pm to sort self out for work on Monday

Agreed.. but why start your weekend on a Friday..?? seems a bit slack..
My recolection was Wednesday night would be Arkies... stay in until either Lovemore or Gibson ( I think.. works at the bowling alley now...) locked the doors ( could never remeber at what time)
Roll out of Arkies to find the sun rising and my car parked on its lonesome in the middle of the road....
head home for a quick shower and off to work... sleep through most of Thursday
THEN you have Friday... preparing for the weekend although Arkies was dead on a Saturday night - you missed wandering around to get a Chicken Inn or whatever else was open at that time - used to have to head to 2nd St ..
*how come I never got hangovers back then.. and now I feel like dying after having more than 3 beers... why God... Why?*

Wednesday - Bulldogs then X-scape (2-3am finish)
friday - bulldogs/keg then La vanhu/X-scape/Goodfellows/Sports (3-5am finish)
Saturday morning :smiley11: :smiley11: in Winter we had Hockey matches normally in the morning occassionally in the afternoon - and we were always "overhung" seemed to make us play better tho :D
Occasionally we'd go out on Saturday - usually to the pub but if we got into party mood we'd head off to a club (rinse & repeat as for friday)
Sunday spent Recovering on the Farm or out at Lake Mac or Darwendale Fishing... Usually fishing of some sort involved... :smiley20:

wednesday, nights now are a little dull, unless you have the ability to play dammit, some country clubs are still good drinking venues as the pocket does allow an extra dozen or so.
the office and then flat dogs are good value, open air bars, night clubs a bit scary now. Then of course Sat,Night and Sunday , the traditional braais with a fair bit of castle.
These are still our saving grace moments.

Anyone remember the days of Aguila's and Sandro's, guess they became my second home.

ahh.... Aguila's... remember it well... but what was it with drinking establishments in Harrys and stairs... seriously - when I come out I can barley walk - having to negotiate stairs in that state was not fun. At least in Arkies you could crawl up them but Aguila's, Tube, Hooters, Bulldog and Escape all had to be fallen down.... my early drinking days played havoc on my shins. :smiley5:

I have brought a few crates of "green ambulances" (cream sodas) to cricket matches on Sunday held at St Johns school for mates of mine or brother playing.
