Eddie Jones to be sacked: report

QUEENSLAND Reds rugby coach Eddie Jones is tipped to be sacked or resign tomorrow.
Fairfax websites reported that the Queensland Rugby Union would hold a media conference tomorrow to make an announcement about Jones's future.
But QRU chief executive Ken Freer angrily denied the report.
"There is no intention to sack Eddie," Freer said.
"As our chairman, Peter Lewis, said as recently as yesterday, Eddie has a three year contract with us and we want him to continue in the job.
"And I can't say it any plainer than that.
"I will not comment further on this rumour."
Only half a season into a three-year contract, Jones has steered the Reds to just one victory in eight Super 14 matches this season.
Jones told the website he was aware "of a number of rumours" about his future.
"It is only a contract, they can give me notice or I could give them notice," he said.
"I will be making a decision in the next two weeks about which side I will be coaching next year."
Questioned about whether he would wait until after the Reds' next Super 14 game on April 7 – Jones said: "It might be sooner than that."
"If they don't want me I won't be sticking around."
Reds general manager Alex Pope denied Jones's job was on the line, but an unnamed source quoted by the website said the coach "must go".
Queensland, which has struggled this season with a raft of injuries, is last on the Super 14 ladder.
