Visa Fees (http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/6353/21395/newfeesfrom2april2007.pdf)

And don't forget those who have already gone through and received their Indefinate Leave to Remain status ... a Britishness test needs to be taken before you can apply for Nationalisation. Not to mention, the new requirement where one has to attend an interview when applying for their first passport.

Phoned the IND this evening to find out more, on the bases that there is myself, wife and daughter to go through the process at the same time.

Was given the following "shocking" figures on the basis that we're applying as a family:

Myself and the wife: £740.00
Daughter (Under 5): £400.00

That's not even taking into consideration the Britishness test beforehand, and passport application at the end of it all.

Unfortunately the world at large is tightening up guys... especially for Zimbos at the moment... so much for 'the brotherhood of man' & the 'Global village'! :smiley6:

Bloody Hell!
So hubby and son are on Ancestral visa (4 years) and we were told (in Zim by the High Com) that after 2 years we would be able to apply for Indefinate leave to remain coz I have Brit Passport, as long as we could prove we were working and supporting our selves. So our two years are up 13 Sep so I phone home office and get told, no rules have all changed, thats how it worked before April 2007! We have a apply for spouse visa for another 2 years, and then indefinate leave or extend the 4 year ancestral by another year and after another 3 years apply for indefinate leave. Oh and by the way either way is gonna cost £395.00.
So I guess we will be applying for spouse visa, just makes me wonder what will happen when they change the rules AGAIN!! And we haven;t even got to the indefinate leave to remain yet!

No you are alright on a Brit Passport, just your spouse and or dependants that will have an issue. especially if they have a Zim passport!

that is correct - my inlaws are having to get a visa via Pretoria - there is BHC in Zim but you gotta start queing at 5 in the morning and they only let 10 in a day - so if you are not the first 10 sorry for that! And that is every timw you visit!

my dad paid for all the above, sat (and passed) the test and then when he applied for a brit passport his application was turned down because he flies for a living and is therefore out the country more than 50% of the year!!! luckily myself mum and sister are all on brit passports!
