Check out this awesome photo - this one deserves an award. Fireworks, Lightning, Sunset, a Comet, and the greatest of Aussie icons, the Beach all in one image.

In addition to the obvious features in the photo, look between the two displays of lighting up the sky to see the third - McNaught's Comet.
The photo was taken just north of Hillary's Marina, which you can see the harbour wall on the left with fireworks being launched.

in case youre wondering Hillary's marina is in PERTH :D
it was 33 degrees at 8pm that night F#%$$^%$& hot but amazing having two lightshows at the same time was great.....

BTW that image has been doctored!!
Comet McNaught was only visible on 16-20 January
Australia day was on 26 January.

Ok i will back down on my affirmation but i am still sceptical as we could no longer see the comet with our naked eyes after the 18th which was more than a week before that picture was taken. you win this one.... :D

Nice Panoramic picture..
It was very good timing for the picture to get that lightning in if it wasn't photoshopped??

he just used a time delay and then overlaid the photos that had the crucial features, common in photography these days , made easier with photoshop too :D

you can see this by the fact that some of the people are blurred, A slow shutter speed would have the same effect but is less efficient.

Skyworks Yeah!! 26 January mark it in your calendar, its the biggest day of the Aussie year. nothing like seeing 400 000+ murungus all having a dindindi in one place! :D

this year was a little lower key cause it was so hot a lot of people headed to the beach instead - hence the pic above but in Perth the sky show is on the River infront of Perth City Centre.

I don't care if it was doctored or not. We live in a very beautiful world.
