So the recent S14, all this talk about England and the Springboks has got me thinking about the subjects of... well, the title says it all.
We've all gone all a bit underdog versus favourites crazy.
Allow me to explain with an example - this weekends tests, starting with the Springboks versus England.
So the South Africans have had the best S14 ever, and we're now going into the game a juiced up, world beating, '07 world cup winning superforce.
Or is that the case?
Could it be that we actually know we're not that flash, and we want them to think that we want them to think that we're good, so that they can buckle under the pressure of being the underdogs?
England are apparently going in a third choice, depleted, travel tired, player starved mess.
Or is that really the case?
Could it be that England are shite, they know it, they're just protecting themselves by saying that they're shite and they're probably going to lose?
Or could it be that they're shite, but they actually want to lure us into a false sense of security in the hope that we choke and they beat us against all odds?
Or could it be that they know they actually have a secret winning formula, but want to pretend that they're shite, to lure us into a false sense of security and they beat us against odds that were never really there?
Or maybe they really want us to think that we think that they think that we think that they think they're shite and really aren't and then we buckle under the pressure of thinking that they're the underdogs, but really we are the underdogs, because, lets face it, these days the underdogs are really the favourites and the favourites are really the underdogs because of the pressure of being favourites.
True?

I think you probably lost them at "and we want them to think that we want them to think that" hehe

lol.
Well according to former AB Sean Fitzpatrick, Englands WC rugby team are too fat to win the rugby world cup.
Based solely on that observation, if the pitch in Bloemfontein is on a slight slope then you'd have to give England the advantage.
Because if one of their players falls over ot gets tackled, then he will automatically roll downhill, flattening any Springbok players that happen to get in the way.
Once half time is over, all England need to do is adopt a strategy of defence, stand at the bottom of the slope and hold hands across the field. Presumably their sheer girth and width will prevent any previously unflattened Springboks from getting past and scoring.
But if Sean Fitzpatrick exagerating, even ever so slightly, the England could be in real trouble. :naughty:

Oh, I was going to give you some rep for that posting Ed but it won't let me. The reason it gives is that you're "a bit gay". :icon10:

Says the guy wearing the pink shirt... :smiley36:
Read the message again - if it says 'you can't give reputation because you're a bit gay' then I think it's trying to tell you something about you, not the person you're repping.:smiley36:

Ed... WTF dude!? ha ha ha! Had a good seka when I read your post mate... basically, England brought a shyte team & got smashed by an SA team that is full of confidence at the moment but could just as easily derail come the RWC... remember, once teams are at the RWC you have to win your pool for the easier QF, then still win THAT & your semi before you can even start thinking about putting one hand on the cup @ Stade De France... going to be EXCITING!
I think i will put my proverbial cock on the block & make a RWC prediction:
My big call is the ABs Vs SA/ Ireland/ France in the Final...but imagine this scenario- an Irland Vs France final!? (SA knocked out by Ireland & ABs by France in semis) ...

The only association the All Blacks will have between cream and final is the cream on the scones they'll be eating with their afternoon tea, whilst they sit and watch the final from the Hotel de Paris VIP lounge... :whistling: :smiley36:

Once Again Australia pull the rabbit out the hat!!!
Roll on September!!!!
Down came a Sprinbok to drink from the billabong,
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee,
And he sang as he stowed that Springbok in his tucker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food) bag,
"You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me"!!!!!
