I'll be supporting the Boks of course... :smiley32:

I don't think we'll be handing out a thrashing though... not if we play like we have over the last few test. I think too many South Africans are being blinded by the high scores of the last few - I've come out of the last few games thinking- "great score, but if we play like taht against a world class side, we're in a bit of shit... "

Of course I'll never tip SA to lose, so we're going to win, but it aint gonna be no walk in the park.

Im quietly thinking that everyone is wrongly panning the aussies... lets face it they still have the best defence out there, and the last few matches theyve been honing their attack as well.. i think we'll see some serious fireworks this weekend!! i don't think theyll win but they will certainly give the boks a fright!

It will be a great game I rekon as the Wallabies have picked up there game these past few weeks..

I agree, I think the south african media are hyping them up too much.
A successful Super 14 does not a World Cup make..

You'd have to favour the Boks for this one but as history shows, you write the Wallabies off at your own peril.

Its going to be an interesting game!!

history would favour the boks...since re-admission the wallabies have only beaten the bokke twice in south africa...the 1st being the boks 1st test back, and the second being in 2000, when a last minute conversion by stirling mortlock gave the scumbags, i mean aussies a 20-19 victory...

All this of course means nothing on the day, however SA's ability at the breakdown, and australias lack of(judging by last wknd) in the same area could be the difference...that and the massive technical advantage at scrum time...

I agree with the breakdown, but the aussie scrum easily showed it had the beef last weekend and the Fiji scrum was no pushover, they (fiji) held the junior AB's scrum quite easily a couple of weeks ago.

Habana is also being rested so thats one less thing to worry about. The only other big problem for the aussies is Speis.. he will punish them around the edge of the scrum so George Smith and Waugh better be on the top of their game!
oh and the aussies need to make sure of conversions... i think huxley missed 5 conversions last weekend.. thats 10 points wasted!

I would like to see them both lose, so here is hoping for a draw. C'mon the All Blacks.

Well, the Bokke made it by the skin of their teeth with two last minute field goals - Aussies weren't as big a push over as some, even I, suspected they'd be facing the Bokke. Aussie defence was right on form but possession, handling and tactics go right to the Boks! Their next meeting should be a battle of epic proportions. Go the Bokke!!!!

at the end of the day...a win is a win, no matter how unconvining...here's to hoping that gods gift to south african rugby, francois steyn can pull off about 10 of his special droppies...

Not to offend anyone but i think the South Africans are a team of pre Madonnas and play as a one man team. Its all about having the try against their name. I lost count of how many times guys with run off with the ball trying to charge through and got isolated. Not to mention how many times the big burly forwards would try crash through when all they simply had to do was pass it for a better opportunity. And dont even get me STARTED on this kick and chase bullshit that seems to be imbred into them. Kicking equals losing possesion you dipshits!

All Blacks play as a team. Thats the difference. And after what i saw on Saturday, it appears the Aussies are playing the same way.

Again, i would like to say I would love nothing better than the Boks to win the world cup.

Credit where credit is due, the Aussies played exceptionally well, their defense was awesome, only Huxley was found a little wanting. Must have given the all conquering South Africans something to think about with their game against the AB's this weekend.

We were luckyyyyyy.

Well done to the Aussies, they nealy made me shit myself.

Not a great one for SA at all, something we've struggled with in the past. I agree with Shayne - too many individual attempts at running (instead of offloading when there's clearly a gap for the support runner) and too many kicks for no reason whatsoever. (did you hear that, Butch?)

Ruan Pienaar - waaaay better than Ricky Januarie. He just needs to cut down on errors.

Sounds like it was a costly game in terms of injuries too - important ones. Will find out who's fit and who's not later today. If John Smit is out of the 3N then I hope Jake Brings Bob Skinstad in as Captain... A bit stuck for hooker - I really don't rate Gary Botha at all. You could see the difference when Smit went off...

Julian Huxley has had a couple of shockers now...

The All Blacks are going to be a different kettle of fish and we need to up our game by about 150%. They're not as sharp as they were last year, but they're still the team to beat.
