I am posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who has asked for help to get the word out to South Africans...
His message:
Hi Guys,
We have started an organisation to stand together as South Africans against crime. We are having a march in London on the 11th of August.
South Africa is being affected by crime on a paramount level and we need all of you to attend this march. Everyone is affected by this! It's not political or racial - it's our country - black - white - yellow - coloured etc. We all deserve the safety to live our lives.

March in London - 11th of August '07
Please join us & march against crime for South Africa
11am: Temple Place WC2 to Whitehall Place SW1
“Stand up and be counted!”
Nelson Mandela once said:
“Every community in our country has a fundamental right to be free from fear. Each and every South African has the right to feel secure in his home, to feel safe in the cities, towns and rural areas. People should not fear the night. They must be able to travel to work, to school and other places without danger. But these rights are being denied to many by criminals who do not hesitate to use violence to achieve their goals.”
Mission statement
Against Crime Together for South Africa is committed to actively working towards a safer South Africa. We aim to help any government or private institution that shares this goal. We believe that we will be able to build up a community of intellectual, financial and willing human resources that we will be able to call upon to assist in any project we initiate.
“Stand up and be counted!”
We are not prepared to stand aside while our beautiful country and its people get destroyed by a handful of criminals. It is time to ACT!!!
Objective
To form an organisation that invites all South African citizens and residents of South Africa to join our organisation to participate in helping South Africa. ACT4SA will remain completely non-political and will assist which ever political party is in power.
As our organisation becomes more established our focus is likely to be channelled in areas we find ourselves being the most productive. Initially our focus will be on these main areas:
Create international awareness of the crime situation in South Africa
Raise money to assist the country to improve the security services
Create a community of members
To form a media gateway to highlight and compliment improvements in the public sector and to assist where possible in failing areas
