As i have just recieved a message informing me that i have done something wrong or said or offended someone could the owners of the site please inform all of us what words we can't use, phrases we can't use , subjects that are offencive or taboo( how typically old fashioned) , and any other wrong doings we do?
Whilst this is a "internet" site, where anything can and will be said from time to time, offencive or otherwise. I would say that should a few mature adults have a conversation that we are comfortable to engage in and that some are "shocked" by the honest and open opinions of others then if they find it so bad then simply dont open the thread.
I also accept that there may be a few minors that may read the relevant threads , then it is up to their parents/guardians to monitor their siblings activities.
I dont see why the "minority " should have to conform to the whims of a majority, whom at time i must say are somewhat narrow minded! but then understand this too , this is my opinion and no-one elses.

People of TCB,
It has become evident that some users of the site are becoming a little too excitable in their use of strong language and inappropriate behavior (you know who you are!) and some newer members are finding it offensive to the point that they will no longer tolerate coming here..
After all the hard work Shayne has put into giving us this site I think we all owe him at least the respect to be civil, decent and polite to new members and those members that do not appreciate foul/offensive language or inappropriate postings.
There is a section put aside for this, please use it, the more moderate members can then make a choice as to what they want to look at or read.
so if you feel you are unable to appreciate or comply with this request and continue to flout it, the admins WILL take appropraite action on a "three strikes your out" ruling. If you feel this is too harsh please PM me and i will be happy to discuss it with you.
Regards Biffon.
PS: apologies for some duplication that may occur! The above message that I have quoted was sent to all the members of the forum and personally I think it is self explanatory and very well written.
Newer members have felt excluded and in some cases verbally abused - admittedly those older members used to the way that members interact with one another on TCB would not have taken offence because of the nature of the banter that happens amongst friends on here, but it does look offensive to new members or outsiders that are none the wiser and want to participate.
This banter will not be stopped, so feel free to use whatever language you like and the site is not changing to become an over moderated one - the only change anticipated is that the banter amongst friends will however be separated, so that those wishing to be part of it may be and for those wishing to be part of more serious conversation that stays on track, may be part of that.
People will have a choice, the only transition for the admins will be figuring out the separation of the threads and the slight upheaval it will cause to the forum and the only transition for the members will be getting used to knowing where to post what.

I would like to say that if the new members feel excluded or verbally abused then they need to get stuck in and join in and go with the flow ...but to sit back and complain or whatever they did is their own problem.
The only other advice i would give to them is to sit quietly , watch and or observe the flow and get to know who is who in the zoo and then jump right in.
Or maybe i just dont give a shit if they do or dont!
If they are that sheltered and easily shocked perhaps they ought to think seriously about cancelling their internet access.
TCB is quite tame compared to some of the 'horror' :crazy!: they might inadvertantly stumble into out there on the www.
A bit of good natured joshing by some of the more forward members on this site is ahrdly the end of the world.
Otherwise tune to www.fluffykittens.com (http://www.fluffykittens.com) :smiley20:
If however you disagree with any of the above please don't shout at me I am sensitive doncha know.:smiley19:
