Slight problem with this system now, there is no food in the shops for them to buy!!! Most of the foods available is sold on the black market at twice the price they were originally, before the price slashes.......

there are other people who are doing runs to sa and brining stuff back but u have to spend over 1000R or 100£ or they charge 20% commision...

Chick

Most definately the surrounding countries are doing a booming business at the moment, how stupid is this new financial decision to halt inflation - now no companies in Zim are doing any business ..... hopefully Mukuru have 'made a plan' as I know people who use their facilities and they work well..

Hi,

I used YesZim ordered groceries and they were delivered two days later. The stuff was all good and customer services phoned me to let me know when my delivery was going to happen.

Hi,
I have seen there are quite a few posts about sourcing groceries, fuel and other essentials and luxury items in Zim.
I run http://www.yeszim.com (http://www.yeszim.com/) which is a great new site doing a wide range of Zimbabwean products and services.
We provide a wide range of services that cover all the essentials in Zim including delivery of groceries, generators and water treatment as well as more fun services like the ability to buy nights out at top restaurants in Zim for your family and friends, scuba diving, sky diving, belgian chocolates, flowers and more!
We ship from the UK to Zim door to door.
We have just got a new shipment in from South Africa/Botswana and always have stock. Please take a look at our site and feel free to contact me on 0208 099 2969.
Our team will be happy to answer any questions you have and guide you through the process.
Look forward to speaking to you :)

But they are so inefficient, goods I ordered mid-December have just been delivered beginning of February with some items missing-talking about more than 30 working days instead of 10-15days.

I think Zimseller.com (www.zimseller.com (http://www.zimseller.com)) are the best for Zimbabwe food, Zimbabwe fuel and Zim grocery shopping online generally.

Whilst mukuru.com seems to have a monopoly in the Zimbabwe money transfer niche, Zimseller (www.zimseller.com (http://www.zimseller.com)) is redefining the art of selling Zimbabwe groceries online. Compared to other online grocery shops serving Zimbabweans in the diaspora, Zimseller.com has by far the largest selection of products-from green vegetables to solar panels.

The layout of the shop front is simple and intuitive, best for customer who want to buy individual products rather than hampers.

I am sorry but I have lost all faith in Zimbos, at a time of crisis they out to screw each other, I send money western union and it gets there, costs a bit more to send but it gets there and I know that my family will get the money. They have their own runner to SA so the prices are true and no body getting ripped off.

They are now receiving in US so its better cos then they can sell it for the street rate

Excellent, thank you. I have always wondered about this but haven't really got round to going into the office to ask, because their commissions seemed exorbitant. But I suppose if they receive forex on the other side, then it is probably well worth it.

I used this company and they are totally :smiley35: useless.

Firstly in needed stuff sent quickly and it took over 2 weeks for them to deliver part of the order I placed.

Secondly, I ordered things like Lux Soap, Quality Choice Birscuits, Tuna, Baked Beans and Nespray Milk Powder. My parents received Geisha, Marie Biscuits (which were stale), No Tuna, No Baked Beans (there could only supply tinned cooked ham). The milk still has not arrived and the flour and sugar had been taken out of large packets and supplied in plastic bags.

We also ordered meat and this was delivered in the back on an un-refrigerated van. My parents did not eat any of the meat.

All I can suggest is that you look at other more reliable sources. My folks were desperate but these guys did not help at all.

Don't get caught like we did, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone from overseas wanted to send me groceries, via these internet shopping sites. I was asked to choose what I wanted. When I went to the site, I knew that half the goods weren't available. A word of warning to all who want to use them - DON'T. If the goods aren't available locally, you'll get what is, and that isn't much, as you know. So, don't waste your money. I haven't heard of one site that can actually provide things like Lux soap and other 'luxuries' we've forgotten exist.

Oh, and W.U. also aren't operating here at the moment, or weren't the last I heard. They have no forex, so you can't collect the US$ or ZAR that's been sent to you.

N.B. I've just heard that only ONE branch is operating, and only 60 people are served per day, so you have to be in the queue about 5a.m. to get your number.:smiley5:

Ok folks, I have heard of someone, and I know he's reliable.

This guy goes to Bots every 2 weeks (where they have everything) to do shopping and will do shopping for you per order through his sister in the U.K. I'm not sure whether he'll only buy for people in Bulawayo, or whether it's the whole country. I'll investigate more, i.e. commission/delivery etc. and let you know. Can anyone think of anything else I should ask him?

Hi,

I'm really sorry you feel this way Sarah & Ryan, and to be honest i can understand why you feel let down and this is not what we expect to hear from our customers.

As a company we aim to keep all our cusomers happy and though you maybe the only ones at present who have been through this with us, on behalf of the company i am really sorry for the delay and non-satisfaction. I am not happy about it and wont try to defend myself nor the delivery team for what has happened.

We have had and are still having very good business from this site, with so many repeat orders and for that we thank you, and would like to keep it that way as our promise to both new and existing customers. Though we are still very much in the growing and expanding proess we hope to continue helping everyone provide for their loved one in Zimbabwe.

Please also understand, though not an excuse, sometime delays are a result of not being able to get through to the mobile phones and landline numbers of the recieving parties.

Sarah & Ryan please accept our apology for the inconvenience and as prviously discussed, a total refund to your order will be sent through the post.

Regards,

Admire

I wish all our customers could afford installing internet for their families. You may just have forgotten that not all are as fortunate as you might be. desides not everyone can afford sitting around the pc to waiting for a reply, considering the current zim situation.

he actually meant you talking to your people in zimbabwe not families and customers!!!
Get your people to put in an internet connecction then you wont have a problem with phones!!

Really no need for the sarcasim we know the situation in zim, we are not stupid, but you are supposed to be providing a service, which you have yet too prove efficient!!
We did tell you that we would rather you sent the original items we had ordered then get the money refunded!! since then we have heard nothing and have recieved nothing! Not a good start considering your claim us being the only affected costomers!!!
Really not impressed.
I am sure you have my number in your records, please feel free to have a chat with me if you would like to take this further.

Zim has alot of outlets / wholesalers where by nearly all food items are available in forex and at a reasonable prices ...when shopping around. Most of these places are legal....and hence using another source to send food packs to Zim..is not only dangerous but also unrelable as has been experienced.
The only problem with nearly all of these places is in that all purchases need to be done in cash and cannot be done through internet banking , transfers etc.
There are ways and means like all things of overcoming this, should there be any interested people l am around most of the time.

DONT BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE BY THOSE THAT ARE USING THIS LACK OF FOOD TO INCREASE THEIR BANK BALANCE AS THERE ARE STILL MANY THAT APPRECIATE THESE HARD TIMES AND ARE THERE TO ASSIST AND NOT STEAL THE LAST PENNY FROM MANY A HARD WORKING MAN AND WOMAN

AND JUST FOR THE RECORD THESE GOOD PEOPLE ARE ZIMBOS
