To Whom It May Concern:

I am a Zimbabwean researcher at the University of Oxford, where I am undertaking a major four year study of commercial farming during the landseizure era, January 2000 to the present day. The project is aiming to understand what took place on the farms, how people were affected, and methods used by the government. As part of the study, I am carrying out a survey of as many of the 4,500 commercial farmers as possible. This email is to notify current and former commercial farmers of the upcoming survey to begin in September, 2007.

A note on confidentiality: Privacy and security are a major concern for this study. All responses will be kept absolutely confidential and in a secure location at the University of Oxford. Questionnaires completed online will be made through a secure and encrypted SSL link. The success of this study depends largely on the size of the sample. Please forward this email to commercial farmers on their land at any point from January 2000 to the present day, and ask them to submit their contact details to agriczim@sociology.ox.ac.uk to receive the survey in September,2007. Please also direct any questions you may have to the same email address. This survey is a chance for all farmers to have their experiences made part of a critical historical record. If you were a commercial farmer at any point from January 2000 to the present day, your participation is greatly appreciated.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles LaurieThe Oxford Research Team

Yes, it's an email that was forwarded to me via the RWW site. I think it would be easy enough to check up on them by phoning Ocford University.

Why, does it look fishy to you GF?

Na no conspiracy theories here. Was just wondering where it was from before I copy and paste it to family (in case they ask...)
