anyone got connections in the Brit high commisionary in Zim or Pretoria

Trying to get my nephew's visa sorted for him to come here for xmas, but the run around we are getting is massive... they are worried cos a few certain 100 odd people have gotten visa's for their kids to visit either for school or whatever and have disappeared into the system, so they think that my sis is sending him over for me to look after him...

so she has had to resubmit the paperwork explaining that he is starting school etc but we've heard nothing back yet time is ticking by rappidly and we need to get this sorted...

I sent a snotty email to Pertoria saying I was gonna chat to my local MP etc etc - 2 weeks later I got a call form pertoria asking when my inlaws were gonna be there and a letter from my mp saying he has will speak to the minister (not holding much hope there!) Anyway inlaws now have a 6 month visa and will be over in Feb!

I did it through the website! I was really surprised i got a response but give it a go - it can't do any harm!

We sent our friend with Zim passport a letter from us addressed to the Embassy in Harare saying we looked forward to their visit, we would accommodate them at our address here in the UK, any assistance in providing a visa appreciated, etc......... Seemed to work..... Good luck :smiley20:
