Calling all Aussie TCBers out there - today is the big day - Johnny or Kevin? Johnny may have outlived his time but has Kevin got what it takes....hmmmm...tonight will tell.
I'm tipping Kevin - new blood and all that. The Aussies have had enough of Johnnys "short term memory" syndrome. I'm looking forward to the results.

When I saw the title, I thought that you meant the real Federal Elections

Well the count is in....Kevin Rudd is the new Prime Minister of Australia. We hope Labour keep the banner high.

I just heard a clip on the radio recorded at the Howard camp last night after the count was in. It was a lady crying and wailing saying how she hates Australia and all it's people and is ashamed to be called Australian - she could not see Australians could turn there backs on the Liberal party and John Howard in particular. The emotions certainly were running high.
Personally, I give Kevin Rudd all my support - Voting in Howard would have meant voting in Costello (Howard had said he'd retire soon and hand over to Costello, his deputy) and I don't have much confidence in him at all. Time alone will tell.

Blair gone, Howard gone... now only Bush remains from the original alliance in Iraq. Tough times ahead for the US?
I dont like the look of Rudd.

I dont like the look of Rudd.
looks more like locker stuffing to me than a leader...NERD!! :)
Seriously I reckon labor governments in general are bad news for the long term, but since we're stuck with Kevin till at least the next elections lets hope he doesn't live up to the stereotype..Still undecided about him..time will tell..
At least he's moving on this climate change thing,so will give him that and would be nice to get penalty rates for working wknds, overtime and pub hols again if they bring that back
